Wrapping himself in a warm blanket, Draken heard Leiandros’ voice next to him, “Wake up. It is morning.”
Without understanding what was happening, he yawned and covered his head with the blanket. “It is too early Brother.”
“Get up now.” Leiandros’ voice sounded like an order.
Grabbing the pillow, Draken threw it at him and said, “Brother, go away. Or I’ll fight with you!”
“With whom are you going to fight?! Get up!” Leiandros threw the pillow back at him.
Draken got up, with his eyes closed, he grabbed the pillow and wanted to throw it again but he felt a strong grip on his hand.
“Stop it! He pulled Leiandros by the collar and threw him onto the bed. “Storm! If you don’t stop…”
Leiandros grabbed both of his hands and said, “Draken.”
Draken, hearing this voice that didn’t belong to Storm, opened his eyes and saw Leiandros’ face. Pushing him away from himself, he stood up. Looking around, he asked with horror in his eyes, “Why am I here?”
Leiandros, pointed at the window and answered, “There was a strong blizzard. And you fell asleep right next to the door. You were trembling and so I brought you here.”
Draken looked at the bed, then at Leiandros and then at himself. He silently took his vest and coat and went towards the door.
“Don’t forget the books.”
With the arrival of the morning, the blizzard subsided. Trees, branches, were scattered all around, making it difficult to walk.
Draken ran out of the house and on his way, he met Den.
“Draken where were you last night?”
Running past him, he entered the house and locked the door. Breathing heavily, with his reddish cheeks, he closed his eyes. But still, he could feel Leiandros’ presence close to him.
“Draken are you alright?”
“You spent the night at his house, right?” Galen, from the corner of the room, suspiciously looked at him.
After taking a deep breath, Draken answered, “There was a strong blizzard. Teacher allowed me to stay. Did you have breakfast? No? Let’s go then. I’ll see you in the canteen.”
Avoiding the looks and questions, Draken finished his breakfast and ran out of the canteen.
Storm looking at him asked, “What’s happening with him?”
Eagle, scratching his head whispered, “Galen, do you know what’s happening?”
“I don’t know.”
“You’ve become so rude.” Den said and caught someone’s gaze on himself. “Who are you looking at?”
A soldier with a wounded arm shouted, “Are you asking me?”
“You have been looking at since the morning!”
“Don’t pay attention Den,” Storm whispered.
Moving his chair closer to them, Elijah whispered, “Teacher Leiandros also changed a lot.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, remember, on the icefield, he said that there would be punishment. But almost all of us swam in the water and none of us, except Draken and Storm could stay on the ice. But after, Leiandros didn’t say anything about the punishment.”
“What about the award? He didn’t mention it either.”
“Well, Raghnall, himself, rewarded Draken and Storm. He allowed them to skip the training and have some rest.”
“Really? I didn’t know.”
Elijah, chewing almonds said, “When we were on the icefield, I noticed that Leiandros was looking at Draken all the time.”
“What?”
“Why was he looking at him?” Storm asked, snatching the plate with almonds from him.
Elijah continued, “Don’t you think that something is happening between them?”
“Something that was happening between Galen and that soldier?”
Filling the canteen with whispers, the table by the window attracted all the attention.
In a low voice, Eagle said, “It can’t be. Leiandros is not that kind of person. He won’t waste his time on such things.”
“But did you notice that Draken and Leiandros always try to avoid each other’s eyes. And last night, where was Draken? I checked his bed. It was empty.”
“You think that something is happening?” Den asked loudly.
“Quiet! What is wrong with your voice?”
“What can I do with my voice?!”
A guy named Ice nodded his head. “I noticed something strange too.”
The next moment, Storm hit the table with his fist and said, “Stop talking nonsense.”
