Secret

Chapter 3

Elaine got up at around 4 in the morning wondering why her alarm didn't go off.

She looked at the alarm clock and realized it had changed from 2 am which she set it to, it was now set to 8 am she frowned and got up

"Why did you change the settings of my alarm clock?" Elaine asked.

"So you could sleep in..... Why are you awake?! Pretty sure it was set to 8 am" Dave inquired.

"I have work later today! You can't just do things like that without asking first!' Elaine said.

"You don't have work in the morning. I cancelled your jobs till further notice" Dave said

"Why would you do that?!" Elaine asked obviously furious.

"Safety, your safety!!" Dave said.

"I don't recall asking anyone to save me genius!" Elaine remarked

"I'm from a secret service okay! We need to catch the people trying to kill you!" Dave said standing up.

"Why exactly are people trying to kill me?!I don't recall offending anyone!" Elaine said.

"I am not supposed to tell you this but.... You know that d**g case you are working on?" Dave asked.

"Yeah......What about it?!" Elaine replied with a question

"Well...... We suspect they plan to kill the lawyer, That's you and the girl in question!"

Dave replied.

"So that way no case....That actually makes perfect sense. The girl was forced to try to smuggle drugs, was caught and I was the lawyer meant to defend her taking me and her out of the equation leaves no case." Elaine deciphered.

"Yep" Dave said.

"So how do you intend to get them you kind of killed your only lead." Elaine said.

"If I hadn't killed him, he'd have killed you and you are....." Dave said before being interrupted by Elaine.

"Bait?!" Elaine cut in.

"Yeah!" Dave replied

"I'm grateful for your honesty" Elaine said in sarcasm.

"Look, my team is working hard on finding them. Soon as that's done I'll be out of your hair and you'll be safe again" He tried to reassure her.

"That makes things so much better!" Elaine said.

"You are really hard to please aren't you?!"

Dave remarked.

"So I've been told." Elaine said.

"Mhmmmm, yeah go back to bed. Get more sleep." Dave said

"No way I just got out of bed!" Elaine retorted.

Dave got up and left the room. A few moments later he came back with a phone cord.

"Hey what are you doing with that?! It's mi....." Before Elaine could finish her sentence he whisked her up and carried her to her bed with her opposition ofcourse.

"Let go! Drop me! What are you doing?!" She screamed trying to pull away. He dropped her on the bed and tied her hands to the bed.

"There! You'll fall asleep in no time!" Dave said leaving the room.

"This isn't funny Dave!! You don't understand. I can't sleep." Elaine said while she tried to free herself.

"Dave come back here!! Right now!! Please!!" Elaine said begging to no use.
