CHAPTER 89

1414 Words

The day of the annual Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting had arrived, and I was there as promised. "Are you sure you're not busy?" Lydia asked anxiously upon our arrival at the children's school. "No, I'm not. I'll soon be going on leave so I've left all my work behind," I replied. Lydia bit her lower lip, her heart full. There was something so attractive about a responsible, involved father. At that moment, Lydia loved me a little bit more. Lydia and I entered the school auditorium, holding Jack and Precious's hands. The hallway buzzed with a low hum of parents and teachers chatting as they settled into their seats.
