My father died, and it was worse the second time. Last time, I sought comfort in Matt's arms and it helped me a great deal to know that I had someone to lean on. But this time, I knew how alone I was, and the realization that I failed my father a second time was enough to kill me. But I have to stay strong. I have to be present. I can't let Matt have all the power while I submerge myself, completely, in my grief. I have to be my own saviour.
My last meeting with Prince Keiran taught me a valuable lesson. I placed all my power in Matt's hands. It was one thing to love him, but to entrust him with everything from my pack to all my powers told me that I was partly to blame for everything that happened.
I needed to take my powers back.
