Everyone said goodbye to Alex and then went back to devouring what's left of Mark's fries. He gave up trying to swat their hands away from it. He pushed the tray to the center of the table so everyone can reach it.
"You're awfully quiet." Mark asked, turning towards his sister.
Amelia sat up straight and stopped nuzzling foot with Clark. She banged her knee under the table as a result.
"Ow!"
"Are you okay?" Mike asked since he was the nearest to her. He made a move to reach her knee but Clark quickly exclaimed that she was fine.
Mike stopped midway and looked at Clark, confused at the slight edge in his voice. Mike shrugged and pulled away. "You sure, Lia?"
Amelia nodded, her face warming up. As usual, Kate was there to rescue her from Mark's questioning. She quickly launched into a
