I didn't know how to react.
A couple of seconds ago I was hoping that they would recognise me as their long lost daughter. But now the prayer was coming true, I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.
“What did you just call me?” I managed to say.
Xander approached my mother. “It's okay mother-in-law. It is not Lyra. They just have a striking resemblance.”
That was enough to put my mother at rest. “Welcome to our home young lady. Come on. We have dinner spread out just for you.”
I clasped my hand in silent apology. “I would love to but I have somewhere Xander and I are heading out to. It's a lively home you have here. I promise I'm going to pay you a visit again.”
