Emerging from the entrance of the apartment complex the girls hailed a cab and were off to their destination. Chatting happily with the driver as they made their way through the city, they eventually pulled up outside an already lively venue. Club Vortex, the most popular spot in the city, with a line already forming full of eager faces waiting excitedly to enter. Exiting the cab and cheerily paying the fare, the girls walked over to the bouncer at the doors, both smiling at the burly man before them. "Hello Gerald, long time no see", Summer beamed up and the 6"5 intimidating bear-like man in front of her. Raising an eyebrow, Gerald tilted his head down slightly to see who was speaking to him so casually. After a brief second, realization hit him and a warm, affectionate expression appeared on his previously stoic face. "Well, if it isn't little Miss Summer, didn't think you'd be back here anytime soon. Thought you'd lost your partner in crime." Summer chuckled and tilted her chin towards the woman standing slightly behind her. With a small wave and a kind smile, Amelie approached the two. "Are you referring to me Gerald?" A look of genuine surprise flashed across Gerald's face, then in an instant he engulfed Amelie in a huge hug that lifted her feet off the ground. Laughing heartily with the petite woman in his embrace, the look of genuine happiness was apparent for everyone around to see how truly happy the man was to see her. Gently placing her back down, Gerald took a step back and smiled at the two women. "Ames, it's good to see you again! Thought you two would be sipping champagne with the upper class by now, not hanging out with the likes of us folk again." "What are you talking about? The upper class are worse than anyone that comes here, and they're alot less fun to be around." "That's right! Gerald, you have no idea what that jackass did to our poor Amelie! They think they can do anything they like just because they have a bit of money, but they have no morals and no consideration for others!" Looking at the two women in front of him, Gerald raised an eyebrow and the two, his curiosity piqued at what Summer had just said. "Oh? And just what did that little boy do to our princess?" a subtle tone of anger ringing through his question. Summer fumed as she explained what had happened at the event hall earlier as Amelie just stood there, sadly smiling to herself, trying to hide the mix of heartbreak and anger she felt inside. "That slimy bastard!" Taking a stride forward, he wrapped Amelie in another engulfing hug, gently smiling at her, "Don't worry Ames, you were too good for that schmuck. You deserve so much better." Amelie gently nodded at her friend, "Thank you, Gerald, too bad you're married though," throwing a cheeky wink as Gerald's mouth dropped at her words and his cheeks grew hot. "Heh, well, gotta say, there's not many guys like me out there, so I think my Sarah is the luckiest woman out there." Winking back at the girls, all three started laughing, lightening the once tense atmosphere as well as Amelie's spirit. "Right you two, get in there and have some fun. Never know, might find Mr Right tonight." Linking her arm with Amelies, Summer started heading inside, as they were level with Gerald she said, in a cheeky tone "I'd be happy with just Mr Right now", and headed into the club with Amelie. The girls laughing as they left, leaving Gerald with a look of disbelief watching after them. Club Vortex was the apex place to be in the city, boasting three floors. the first floor was filled with the Dj on stage, a bar that wrapped around half of the room with booths on either ends. A huge dance floor taking the majority of the space. The second floor was similar to the first, a huge bar area on the back wall with more seating areas around and another decently sized dance floor in the center. This floor was more for people that liked to be able to chat with their drink, whilst the first floor was for those that just wanted to drink and dance, preferably with someone. The third floor, however, was the VIP floor. A private bar that held liquors not available on the other two. Booths lined the room, as the balcony allowed guests to see the other floors below, with the music still flowing up but not as loud, allowing these guests to converse comfortably whilst watching the other patrons enjoy themselves. Summer and Amelie headed straight to the bar on the first floor. Smiling, Summer waved down one of the barmen. "Well well well, look whose back" the bartender smiled at the girls. "To what occasion do I owe the pleasure of seeing your pretty faces?" Summer giggled at the man's flirtatious words, "You haven't changed at all Jack! Ames got screwed over so we're here to drink and have some fun!" Jack looked over at Amelie, obvious curiosity crossing his face. Amelies just smiled and gave a slight shrug, showing that she obviously didn't want to explain. Understanding instantly, Jack simply gave him one of his killer smiles and bowed to the two girls, "Well then ladies, it looks like I am at your service to provide the best drinks in the house." With a flourish of his hand, Jack straightened back up and began to mix the girls some drinks, reappearing after a few minutes with some very pretty looking blue cocktails. "Thanks Jack, we're going to head up to the second floor so we can enjoy these. We'll be back down in a bit to really get the party started" Summer laughed and threw the bartender a wink, his face instantly lighting up in recognition. "I'll give the boss pre warning then." With that, the girls took their drinks and headed up to the second floor, securing a booth in the middle and toasted their drinks, anticipation of the night to come flowing through the both of them.
