Josie returned with the food and we ate it sitting in the patio chairs placed round the table and umbrella I have set up outside the barn. We drank from water bottles I keep in the little fridge in the feed room. It was now 7 P.M. and the sun was beginning its slow descent over the tree line. It was a beautiful sight, but I was too wound up to enjoy it. I was still watching the driveway with eagle eyes, dreading the sight of Harvey’s gray FJ Cruiser.
