Chapter 35

1296 Words

-HYP- The sun had long since dropped below the horizon, smothering the world in a thick, almost oppressive silence. Dinner had come and gone, and the pack had fallen silent - everyone had disappeared into their routines or gone to sleep. I was bracing myself for another long, restless night in one of the guest rooms. Ever since Theia came back from the cottage, I’d made it my mission to steer clear of her. I wasn’t even staying in the same wing anymore. I’d planned it that way—no chance encounters, no midnight run-ins when I'd inevitably drag myself to the kitchen for a drink. It was all part of my grand plan: keep my distance, bury these feelings, and move on. Hell, I even got back together with Erin. She was keen and was already talking about combining a Luna ceremony with a wedding.
