Kate sat at her dresser, staring at her reflection in the mirror. Her lips curled into a sly smirk as she ran a hand through her long hair.
The phone on the table beside her buzzed, and she picked it up without hesitation.
“Hello?” she said in a low, expectant voice.
“It’s done,” the man on the other end said. His tone was cold and business-like.
Kate’s smirk deepened. She traced her finger along the edge of the mirror, watching her own reflection with satisfaction.
“Good,” she whispered. “Now let’s see how she’s gonna trust him again with her child.”
The man remained silent, waiting for further instructions.
