Chapter 19

Lexi's P.O.V. ~ I am now sitting in Uncle Jerry's car and we're driving to the destination. I researched it and it's a secluded warehouse on the outskirts of town. I put on my normal missions clothes, black leather pants, and a black t-shirt. I have my daggers, knives and two fully loaded guns on me, plus the bag of weapons I threw in the back seat. We have about three minutes until we arrive and it is 10:56pm, so we will be there one minute early.  "Don't worry kiddo, we'll get him back." Uncle Jerry breaks me out of my train of thought. I nod. "I know we will, but what will the kids say when we all come to school with cuts bruises and possibly other wounds?" He smiles at me. "I already took care of it, said that we three will be out for the rest of the week. Monday morning we will have to go back to school but I was wondering something while we're on the topic of school. We host this talent show thing at the end of every year in the auditorium and I was wondering if you would want to participate. I know you have mad musical skills but you also get a bit of stage fright. No pressure into joining, but if you want to, just come tell me and I'll sign you up, alright?" I smile lightly at him and nod just as we pull into the warehouse. There is no lights on on the inside from where we stand, and no one on the outside. That means they either have everyone on the inside going to attack us all at once, they don't have enough men to guard the outside, or they think they can take us with less. I'm going for either option one or two because I have so much pent up rage that I am just aching to let go. We walk out and I grab the bad and sling it over my shoulder. I push the door open and Uncle Jerry goes in, with a g*n in his hand, I have a knife in mine. We see a light coming from the end of the hallway so we make our way to that. I put my hand on the door and he counts to three and then I quickly push it open fully with my knife drawn to see someone I thought was long gone. "Aunt Karen?" She smiles. ''Alexandra darling, how are you?" She asks like she didn't leave with no indication as to where she went.  "How am I? What the f**k are you doing here and why have you taken Tommy? Where is he?"  "Now dear there is no need to rush, we can just sit and talk for a bit, come, tell me about how high school is going for you? Is anyone giving you a rough time?" She acts like she actually cares. I huff. "Like you care. Now, where is Tommy because we need to leave so we can go home and sort some stuff out." She looks at me. "I heard about what happened to Raym-" She starts but I cut her off. "Don't you dare say his name." I warn. "He was my husband and I loved him." I scoff at her pathetic a*s. "Yes you're right was, because you divorced after you cheated on him and then told him you didn't love him, if I remember correctly, which I always do." She looks sad when I bring that up. "I didn't want to say those things to him, but someone very dangerous said he fell in love with me and forced me into saying those things or else he would've killed you and your Uncle. I love you both, you are like a daughter to my Alexandra, and that's why I have brought you here, to ask if you will come back with me, and together, now that my husband is gone, can be a family." I give her a blank look. "No, now I will not repeat myself, where is Tommy?"  "Bring him out!" She yells to someone and a second later Tommy is being dragged through the double doors to our left. He has tons of cuts and bruises and I can see a gunshot wound on his lower stomach. "Lexi, get out, please. She wants to take you and me and I refused so she did this. She will do this to you as well if you don't agree. Save yourself Lex, please.'' He's begging me. In our entire friendship he has never begged me for anything, especially to abandon a mission, and right now this is the most important mission of my life.  "No, so shut up while I save your a*s." He glares at me and I glare right back. I hear a light laugh and look over to find Karen laughing. "I never did understand your friendship, you always fought and were at each others throats, but then run right back as if nothing happened. I always wished to find a friend like that, so does everyone, you're lucky enough to find one. Don't ever let him go, and if you come with me, us three, we could start together, a happy family. I have plenty of money to last us a good ten years comfortably, and I can find a job to pay for everything. What do you way Alexandra? Do you want to become a family?" She moves towards me while saying the last bit. I need to be smart about this. She never did like fighting and was never good so if I can get behind her I could subdue her long enough to at least get rid of everyone else. I nod and drop my knife and backpack.  "Lexi what are you doing?! Don't do this." Uncle J yells. Karen smiles at me and opens her arms for a hug. I move slowly and hug her, then when she's in the perfect position, I twist her arm so I am now behind her with a knife to her neck and her arm in an uncomfortable position behind her back.  "Did you honestly think I would ever go with you? Especially when you were the one who put the hit out on my parents and uncle?" She stiffens at that. "You thought I wouldn't find out? Well, I did. And I'm gonna kill you for killing my family." She laughs. "You wouldn't kill you own mother, would you?" That shocks me. I press the knife further into her neck. "What do you mean by you're mother?" She doesn't respond. "Answer me!" I yell. "Your parents took you from me and Raymond when you were born. You weren't Raymond's child and his sister and her husband were trying for kids but she had fertility issues. Raymond didn't want you because you weren't his, so they took you and we agreed that if we ever met I would just be Aunt Karen to you, even though it was killing me. I never wanted to get rid of you, but Raymond wanted to have his own kids then found out he was infertile, same as his sister. I was always so close to just driving to your house and demanding to your parents that they give you back to me, so I could care, and love you like you deserve. Raymond did love you though, because you were legally his niece, but whenever we would get together when you were younger, he would always be the one playing with you, giving you lots of presents, and you once called him 'daddy' by mistake, but we were lucky because your parents weren't around. I have come here to take you back, my child, I want to be a family. Me and you, wouldn't that be nice?" I take all of this information in. My Aunt Karen is my biological mother, Uncle Raymond wasn't my uncle, and my parents weren't my parents.  "What proof of this do you have? You could be lying so I don't kill you this instant." Well I'm glad you asked, child, if you look in that bag over there, you will find pictures of me during birth, and your birth certificate. If that's not proof enough then we can do a DNA when we leave here, together." I motion for Uncle Jerry to go over and check if she's telling the truth. He opens the bag with one hand, the other still holding his g*n, and pulls out some pieces of paper. He looks briefly before bringing them over to me. He shows them and I feel my breath get stuck in my throat. There, is my birth certificate that states that Karen is my birth mother and it doesn't state my father. He then lets me look at the pictures where Karen is in birth and then she is holding a baby wrapped in a light pink blanket. Then it's a photo of a baby, and that is the exact same my parents used to show me when I asked for baby photos.  "You did give birth to me?" I ask in disbelief, and my hold tightens on her.  "Yes I did, do you believe me now? I am your mother." I growl at that and she flinches. "You may have given birth to me but that does not meant you are my mother. My mother is now six feet under thanks to you. So is my father, and my uncle. You are nothing to me. I will not be going anywhere with you, as I have my family and life here. Now, I'm going to let yo go, but not before your men let Tommy go." She doesn't move. "Did you hear me? Tell them to let him go, now." She nods at them then they bring him over to us. I signal for Uncle Jerry to give him a g*n so we can kill these people and leave. They both nod at me and start shooting at the men before they even have time to relax. There's about seven men, but they're not highly trained so they must be people she got fresh off the street. I release Karen and twist her so she's facing me then I punch her in the face and she falls back. All of the men are dead, and the boys are waiting for me to finish with her. I lift my knife and move it towards her. "Now, Alexandra, you wouldn't kill your own mother would you?" She asks clearly afraid. I chuckle. "She's already, and you killed her. Now, I'm just returning the favour." Then I stab her in the eye, then the other, and then slice her throat. I put my signature on her forearm. It's the letter 'a' with a cross in the middle and a circle around it.  "Let's go." I say to the boys. We stand and walk out, ready to never speak of this stuff again.
