The meeting with the elders had lasted far longer than I had anticipated. By the time I pushed open the dots of my chambers ,all I wanted to silence ,I wanted to rest and let the quiet consume me .My eyes swept over the room and found her.
Skylar was sitting on my bed .I simply stood there watching her .Her eyes found mine eventually .
She looked like she had seen a ghost .Her chest rose and fell rapidly ,her breath came out shallow and uneven . A thin sheen of sweat glistened across her pale skin,little droplets trailing down her neck before disappearing beneath the neckline of her wine colored dress.
Her dress was elegant ,its long sleeves were modest ,yet the neckline dipped just enough to reveal the delicate curves of her breasts .
I immediately looked away .
