Many years had passed since Rodiela's twenty-eighth birthday and she became the CEO of the company.Things seemed to be going exceptionally well for Rodiela over those years. Business was blooming as improvements were made after all, which led to the sales uprising more than it ever has. Rodiela felt proud of her achievements. Rodiela skimmed over the document on her computer screen when a knock sounded through the thick oak doors located at the entrance of her office.

"Enter."

Footsteps echoed through the room as the sound of keys on a keyboard with heavy breathing following soon after.

"Ma'am a letter for you" a man that looked close to her age, handed her a black envelope with gold lettering.

"Thank you." curtly giving a nod to the young man, Rodiela opened the piece of paper to find an invitation. It read:

To Miss Smith

You are invited to Mr Balaskas' masquerade ball 2 weeks from now.

Rodiela never knew of someone with the surname Balaskas, yet that name rang a bell in the back of her mind, she just couldn't put her finger on it. Brushing it aside, Rodiela just carried on with the task at hand. Just as Rodiela finished up for the day, an email buzzed through her computer. A smile appeared when she recognized the sender of the email. Topaz was spending a long night at her family's company, ever since Rodiela took over her company. Derek and Topaz decided they would do the same thing to support their friend through the tough adapting period.

Time flew by between the two girls as they spoke about anything that came to mind over the phone, the topic of the ball arose and while Rodiela was trying to figure out what to wear, Topaz explained who Mr Balaskas was. Unfortunately, it still did not make sense as to who this man was.

A gown struck her interest. It was a royal purple gown cased with diamonds covering the bodice. A silver thread embroidered through the silk material detailing a floral design. Rodiela fell in love with the beautiful gown. She knew this would be perfect for the party. Adding it to her cart Rodiela had to find a mask and shoes that would match before she purchased it.
