A few months have passes and deadlines for our college picks have come and gone. I decided to stay and go to school here as I couldn’t get myself to leave my family and pack. Growing up here was so special and I couldn’t imagine not being here anymore. My birthday is just a few days away and I’m racing with anticipation. My thoughts and feelings are all over and I’m not sure how much longer I can keep it all in. These last few days sure feel like months to me right about now, but we’re counting down one by one. 5…..4…..3…..2…..1…. Today is finally the day! My 18th Birthday! I woke up to my wolf purring in my head. At first I was confused as to what was happening and quickly realized. She’s here! “Good morning sunshine!” She says to me. “My name is Aspen. So nice to finally meet you Aria” She says to me. “OMG you’re here!! Thank goddess!!” I squawk as I’m freaking out right now. “Get ready for forever with me babe, we got a life to go!” She says to me. She sure is a happy wolf that’s for sure. We get to talking and going on and on for hours. Luckily it’s a weekend so I don’t have to be at school today. Sadly the full moon just passed so we’ll have to wait until next months full moon to shift into our wolf form. Aspen keeps reassuring me that it’s not a big deal and gives us time to get to know each other better before then. As I finally make my way downstairs my mom and dad are sitting in the kitchen with a huge stack of blueberry pancakes(my favorite!) waiting for me with a little candle. They start singing “Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Aria, happy birthday to you!” My heart is so full right now as I smile watching them sing with my wolf singing along in my head. I walk over to make a wish and blow out the candles. My wish is to finally meet my mate. “Happy Birthday baby” says mom as she kisses my cheek. “Happy Birthday my little croissant!” Exclaims my dad. He’s called me that for as long as I can remember. “Thank you guys. I’m so glad I have you two. My wolf came this morning, her name is Aspen.” “Oh honey, that’s great. We’re so happy to hear that.” Says my mom. “Why don’t you head up to the shower and get ready for the rest of the day. I wanna take you out for a girls day.” “Sounds perfect, give me a bit and I’ll be down soon.” I tell her. As I finish getting ready, I head downstairs to meet my mom and off we go. First stop, manicures and pedicures, my favorite. After, we go do some shopping. I find my favorite store, grab a few things and find the checkout. I got the cutest outfit for my birthday party this weekend, a black long sleeve dress that fits me like a glove, with a pair of black pump heels with rhinestone gems on them. Our day of fun out with my mom is coming to an end so we drive back home and dad has dinner already waiting with all my favorites, lots of pasta, garlic bread, dessert, yum! My brother Silas and his mate Mindy are already there waiting for us also. Silas doesn’t live with us anymore, after he found Mindy they went and got their own place. He got super lucky and met Mindy when he turned 18. She’s so sweet and makes my brother the happiest I’ve ever seen him. She has the most beautiful ginger curls and the tiniest frame i’ve ever seen on a she wolf before. She’s the complete opposite of my brother, who’s 6 foot tall and has jet black hair, but that makes them the perfect duo. I run over to give them both a hug since it’s been awhile since I’ve seen them. “Happy Birthday little one.” Silas says to me while he kisses the top of my head. “Happy Birthday Aria.” Says Mindy while we hug. “Thanks guys, it means a lot for you to be here. I’m so glad to see you.” “Of course, we wouldn’t miss your special day. Now let’s start dinner. It looks great dad.” “Thanks buddy, put all my sweat and tears into this dinner.” Says dad while he chuckles. I head over to my chair and sit down for our feast. After dinner and dessert Silas says to me, “So Aria, I heard you’ve decided to stay at the pack and go to school here. I think that’s great.” “Yeah I’ve put a lot of thought into it and I think that’s what will be best. I’m super excited to start in the Fall.” After hours of us chatting it’s finally time for them to go home. We say our goodbyes, hugs and kisses and off to bed I go. It’s been a super long day and I’m exhausted.
