Chapter 6

471 Words
I made all the necessary arrangements for my stay here, school starts in a few days. I’ll miss Alex and the rest of my friends but they understand the situation and support me. I think it’s best that I’m here. I decide to take the day to stroll around the pack while the nurse tends to my grandma. I kiss her on the head and tell her, “I’m going out for a bit, I’ll be back soon.” She gives me a smile and off I go. I walk around the small town visiting all the little stores and seeing all they have to offer. Everything is homemade and has that small town feel, which I absolutely adore. I could really see myself loving staying here. I walk into the ice cream parlor and get my favorite, chocolate chunk in a waffle cone. As I’m walking out my phone begins to ring, I try to hurry and answer it but as I do I bump into a wall of muscle. My ice cream goes all over his shirt and I drop my phone on the ground. I scramble trying to find some napkins as I apologize profusely to this poor man I just got ice cream all over. I can hear him laughing as I’m freaking out trying to clean his shirt. I hear him say my name, “Aria?” I look up and realize it’s Asher. Yikes! Not again. “I’m so sorry Asher. I was trying to answer my stupid phone and wasn’t paying attention.” I say to him. He laughs, “It’s fine but we really have to stop meeting like this.” He says with a smirk. I can feel myself blush. “Believe it or not, this happens all the time.” He says to me. “It does?” I ask, looking at him confused. “No, but it’ll make you feel better if you think it does.” He tells me. I feel my cheeks getting red again and I laugh. “That’s so cheesy.” He gives me a big smile and asks, “so what brings you into town today?” “Just strolling through the town, trying to familiarize myself with everything.” “Well if you need an escort, I’m your guy.” “Thanks, I’m just about done, I was grabbing an ice-cream before heading back to my grandmas house.” “No worries, next time lets make it a better date though.” He tells me as I start to walk off. Completely thrown off guard from that sentence, I turn around to see him smiling at me. Still shocked, I just smile back at him and say, “we’ll see.” As I walk away I say to myself, what the hell was what?!
