The Powerful Mate

Chapter 14

Cal takes the stage and all I could think about now is how yummy he looks in that suit he’s wearing. I pull myself together before I start drooling over him in front of everyone here. He makes his speech and leaves the stage. We all talk for a bit and I can see him saying his goodbyes to his guests. “I think it’s about time we head home also.” My father says to us. “Let me grab my bag dear and we’ll head out.” My mother says to him. We begin saying goodbye to everyone when an old friend of ours pulls me in for a hug. We hear a loud low growl from across the room and I know that can only be from one person. Cal. I quickly make my way over to him before a scene happens, he is their alpha after all. “Can you not make a scene please?!” I say to him frantically while everyone stares at us. “Mine.” He growls as he puts his arm around my waist and pulls me into him. My parents make their way over to us and my dad raises his eyebrows. “I see we have found our next luna, haven’t we?” “Oh my baby!” My mom exclaims to me. She rushes to hug me and kisses my cheek. “I guess we should leave the new couple to be.” Says my dad. We all hug goodnight to each other and they make their way out. I look up to Cal’s handsome face, “so whats next?” I ask him with a wink.

Once the ball officially ended we made our way back up to the alpha wing of the pack house and up to Cal’s room. When he opened the door I was in awe with how amazing it was. It had large glass windows to the left which went out to a huge inclosed balcony. Straight ahead was his bed, it was huge, enough to fit like 10 people! Off to the right was the living area with a couch and tv along with a small kitchen. I walked through the whole room admiring all the beautiful art work that was among the walls. Cal walked up behind me, I could feel his breath just over my shoulder, sending tingles down my spine. I turned around to face him, “this room is amazing.” I say to him. “I see something amazing and its standing right in front of me.” He says seductively. He then reaches up and cups my face with his large hands and pulls me in for another lust filled kiss. I can see it in his eyes that its very hard refraining from bending me over this couch right now, which I wouldn’t mind to be honest. I run my hands down his muscular chest, tracing every inch of him with my fingertips. We pull away for a quick second to catch our breaths and he takes my hand, leading me over to the huge bed. He slowly begins unzipping my dress from behind, I can feel his very hard member pressing against my backside begging to be let loose from his pants. My dress falls to the floor and I’m left in nothing but my bra and panties. I can feel his eyes raking over me as I stand there in front of him admiring his handsome face. He lets out a low growl of approval and a smirk plays on his face. The thoughts of this man right here doing dirty things to me is making my slit drip in need for him. I start unbuttoning his shirt until I get down to the buckle of his pants, I pause for a second and look up into his brown eyes looking down at me. “Is something wrong?” He asks me. And all I could think about as soon as he said that was Asher. I instantly jumped back and hurried over to my clothes. Cal might be my mate, but I will not do that to Asher. “Hey, whats wrong? Whats going on?” He asks me again. “There is something we need to talk about and you’re not gonna like it…I’m sorry.” I say to him. He growls at that sentence and rushes over to me. “What is it?” “Can we please sit and talk?” I ask him. His face softens and his muscles relax and my calmness. “Yes, of course. I’m sorry.” He says. We walk over to the couch in the living area and we begin having our talk. “So, as you know I have been away for awhile.” I tell him. “Yes, I know.” “And while I’ve been away I’ve had my own life going on. I kinda have a boyfriend and he means a lot to me.” He growls again at that. “What?!” He says very possessively. He stands up, breath heaving, about to lose it. I try my best to calm him down. “Hey look, I’m sorry but I had a life before I met you. You’re my mate and all I’ve ever wanted. But you can’t expect me to just leave everything behind just like that and forget it all.” He takes a few minutes, pacing back and forth and finally says. “You’re right. I’m sorry. We will figure this out. but please please tell me that you won’t leave me. I just got you and I cannot lose you. please.” He begs me. “I promise you.” I tell him. “Its not going to be easy and I’m gonna have to hurt a great guy so please just give me some time.” I say to him. “Take your time. I understand.” He says to him. I walk over to him and grab his hands, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “Thank you for understanding.” Now I must talk to Asher. I love him dearly, but I cannot live without Cal. Since finding him everything is different. I can’t live without him. Tomorrow I will make the drive back to see Asher and talk to him.

The morning rolls around and I wake up in Cal’s bed. He gave me some space last night and let me take the bed while he slept on the couch. Im really dreading what I have to do but I need to do it. I make my way over to my parents house to grab my suitcase and tell my parents about everything and I tell them I will be back soon. I go back outside to get in my car, Cal is waiting outside for me. He opens my door and puts my suitcase in the trunk. “Please come back to me.” He says to me with sadness on his face. “I will. I promise. I will call you later.” I say to him. “Be careful” he calls out as I pull out of the driveway. Now for the long ride back. With all this time I have I’ve been going over how I’m gonna tell Asher, trying to find the best way. I pull up to my home and go inside. I decided to start cleaning up and packing a few things for when I go back to Cal’s while I wait for Asher to get here. When he arrives, he comes in and goes in to kiss me. I turn so he can kiss my cheek and he gives me an odd look. “Is everything okay?” He asks me. “We need to talk Asher.” I tell him. “That doesn’t sound good, is everything okay?” He asks. I lead him over to the couch and we sit down. I grab his hands in mine and look him in the eyes. I can feel tears starting to form as I tell him, “I found my mate last night.” He just looks at me shocked. He doesn’t say anything for a minute and then starts, “who is it?” “Cal.” “The alpha of your old pack?” He asks me. “Yes, he found me last night and as soon as we looked at each other we just knew. I’m so sorry Asher.” I say to him. He just stares at me again, trying to take this news in. “I’m so sorry Asher, I truly am. I love you so much. But we always knew this day could possibly come for either of us.” “No no, I know. I’m just in shock right now I think. The girl I love, has found her mate.” He says to me. “So where do we go from here?” He asks me. I look up at his with sadness in my eyes, “I’m gonna go back to him. But I had to come here and make things right with you first. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. I truly do love you. And I’m so grateful for everything you have done for me and everything we’ve been through over the past few years. Thank you Asher.” I lean in to give him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Its okay Aria, I know. We made the agreement that if and when one of us found our mates we would part ways and not hold each other back. So thats what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna let you go and I won’t stand in your way.” He says to me. We sit in silence for awhile and just take in the time that we have together right now as everything is gonna change for the both of us as soon as I leave. We make dinner and put on a movie like we always did and just relaxed for the night. Once morning came I finished getting all my things together that I would need for awhile and gave Asher one final hug and kiss on the cheek. He put my suitcase in the trunk for me and I got in the front seat ready to make my way back to Cal.
