Chapter 11

The sun is shining through to window into my room and I open my eyes, stretching out my limbs. “Rise and shine!” Yells my mom as she busts through the door. “Ughhhh.” I say under my breath. “Good morning.” I say to her. “Lets get ready for the day and go get our nails done for the ball, what do you think?” She asks me. “That sounds good. Just let me wake up and get ready then we can go.” I tell her. “Okay sweetie, ill be downstairs waiting.” She tells me on her way out of my room. I get up and get ready, make my coffee downstairs and we make our way over to the nail salon. After a fun day out with my mom, we head home and Alex calls me. “Hey! I just got home, I’m gonna spend the night with my parents but tomorrow morning lets go to breakfast, okay?” She says to me. “Yeah of course, spend time with your family and ill see you in the morning.” We hang up and I go into the kitchen to help mom with dinner. We’re chatting away when my father gets home. He walks in and gives us both a kiss on the cheek. Even though he’s retired from being Beta, he still likes to help out when he can. “Hello my beautiful ladies.” He says to us. “Hey dad, how was work?” I ask him. “It was good. That guy Cal is really doing a great job.” He says. “Oh yeah, I completely forgot, Cal took over being Alpha.” I’ve been gone so long I haven’t even realized how much has happened here. “Thats great to hear, I’m sure his father is proud. I always knew he’d be great.” I say. “Yeah that old bat, he’d rather do it all himself but he’s taking pride in how well Cal has been doing.” He says. We finish up eating dinner and say our goodnights and head up to bed. The next morning I get up and get ready to go pick up Alex so we can go for breakfast at our favorite little spot. She gets in as I pull up to her house and we head over to the diner. “Do you have a dress yet for the ball?” I ask her. “No I was hoping we could go shopping around today actually.” She says as she laughs. We always find a way to go out shopping. “Me too, I have nothing but need the perfect dress.” I say to her as I wiggle my eyebrows as we both laugh. “Have you put any thought into if you’re gonna find your mate at the ball?” I ask her. “Not really, you know me. I’m fine being my myself, I don’t need someone else to tell me what to do. What about you, have you thought about it any?” She asks me. “Ehh, kinda but not really. Things are really good with Asher and we just fit together. Being with him makes me so happy and honestly I don’t know if I wanna ruin that.” I tell her. “Yeah, thats a difficult one. I know you’ve been waiting out for your mate still though, so maybe you will and maybe you won’t. I guess we’ll see.” She says to me. She’s right, I guess we will see. I haven’t really put much thought into it cause things with Asher really have been good and im not sure if I want things to change anymore. We finish up our breakfast before heading off to the little dress shop thats a few streets over. We walk in and are welcomed by the friendly staff thats working. We look around and try on a bunch of different dresses til we both think we’ve found the perfect ones. “We’ll take them!” We both say.
