Always an ending

Unpacking yesterday

a couple of weeks have gone by for Kiara and that she impatiently waited for the moving truck to pull up. she's gotten really close to Ashton though which is weird for her. She just moved into town and met a strange man. she didn't feel lucky though.

she was afraid of getting close to anyone because she didn't want to lose them the way she lost her mom. Ashton came over a lot in the last couple of weeks and they just sat and talked.

"so tell me about yourself"

Ashton chuckled as he laid on his back hanging his head over the bed. Kiara laughed and she threw a pillow at his face and she laid down on his stomach.

"trust me you don't want to know about me, my life is crazy and messed up and it's dark and it's sad"

Ashton set up moving Kiara's head into his lap and he stroked his hair. he looked down at her with knowing eyes and smiled.

"key" he said in a soft voice he then moved the piece of stray hair out of her face and then held her hand.

" I've known I've only just met you but I feel like there's a connection here, and God brought us together for a reason trust me when I say, there is nothing you can say that can drive me away"

Kiara looked at him and just smiled and she knew that she felt safe and his arms so she rode over on her side and just closed her eyes and she drifted to sleep hoping it would be a dreamless slumber.

Kiara turned up the music and threw her hand up in the air and screamed. all the windows were rolled down and the wind was making her hair fall over the place but she didn't care "hey where are we going" her friend Daisy shouted over the music and wins causing Kiara to turn and look at her and smile.

Daisy laughed as her two other friends were in the backseat just screaming and singing at the top of their lungs. it was New Year's Eve and they didn't care how cold the evening was they were just out having fun. "hey pass me the vodka" Daisy shouted. handing the bottle over to Kiara she took a big swig and raise the bottle into the air and screamed.

they were all drunk and Kiara was driving, they knew it was a bad idea but they didn't really care. Kiara just got the news that her mother was diagnosed with untreatable cancer so she was lashing out.

David her friend in the backseat opened up another bottle but instead of it being vodka it was Tennessee whiskey. David took a really big drink and then handed the bottle over to Daisy and then from Daisy to Kiara. with the music blaring and everyone's ears and the countdown's starting a truck came out of nowhere.

it's smashed into the passenger side of the car. and as the semi came to a stop that cars just seemed to roll. it rolled for about 10 seconds before it came to a stop landing and all four wheels the car was crushed.

Kiara let out a scream as she picked her head up from the steering wheel and looked around her. Daisy and David were unconscious but she didn't know if they were alive. "Daisy" she shook at her best friend's shoulder until she came and Daisy's eyes were bloodshot red.

Daisy unbuckled her seat belt and tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge so she turned around and looked at David who seemed to be deceased. Daisy started crying but Kiara looked confused.

this wasn't how the night went. none of her friends were drinking but why in this nightmare of a dream was it this way. they were hit by the drunk driver, Kiara and her friends are sober.

Kiara said straight up quickly and tried to catch her breath She looked around her and saw that Ashton was right behind her trying to figure out what was happening.

"are you okay"

Kiara looked around her her breathing was still labored and she had a confusing look upon her face and she opened her mouth just to close it back in place.

"Kiara what the hell just happened"

she took a deep breath and told her story. but she told it how it actually happened and then she told him about her dream and she was confused. she didn't understand why it was backwards. but no one can really say your dreams are weird just embrace them.

around 6:00 p.m. there was a knock at the door and Kiara caught up to check it thank God it was the moving people, she wanted her furniture. Kiara called for Ashton and he came running to help the moving guys.

Kiara helped to give directions to where her furniture should be placed, and how it should look. around 10:30 all of her furniture was in place and it looks finally like a home and she could breathe.

she looked over to Ashton to speak but before she could phone call lit up her screen " unknown caller" that's what the ID read.

Kiara answered the phone but this time she didn't say a word and the only thing she heard was breathing. "quit calling this number. I don't know who you are and I don't want to leave me be" she hung up the phone quickly and then blocked the number hoping it wouldn't call back.

Kiara turned and looked over at Ashton and smiled.

"time to eat"

Ashton chuckled a little before grabbing his keys off the table and walking to his truck. with Kiara right on his heels he opened the door and let her slide in.

Ashton drove down the highway he turned on the radio and just started to sing.

"there will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword he will tear your city down Olay Olay o Lord he will tear your city down"

Kiara laughed and picked up the next verse

"Olay Olay o Lord he will tear your city down, there will come a poet his weapon is his word and he will slay you with his tongue Olay Olay o Lord"

halfway through the song Ashton swings into the drive-thru of Taco Bell. looking over at Kiara he smiles.

"what does thy lady want"

"two super supreme burritos and I also want a taco salad"

Ashton laughed and went to go order their food. when the dude for the intercom told him to pull up to the second window to pay they had to wait in line. I was waiting in line for their food Ashton's phone started to ring

he looked down and noticed quickly that it was the recruiter he has been talking to for the last two weeks. he quickly grabbed the phone and answered it but he also walked out of the car.

as Kiara was sitting in the car watching him walk in circles talking on the phone she has to watch the cars move up and the other ones behind her start to honk.

"damn it"

she didn't want to interrupt his phone call so she just scooted over into the driver's seat and pulled the car up. she reached the second window and decided that she was going to pay for the food so she took her card and paid.

when Ashton hoped back in the car he looked up Kiara and smiled he then shook his head.

"well you're in the driver's seat now take us home"

Kiara laughed out loud and drove home.
