Scarletts POV Stretching across the lounge a yawn escaping me I groggily rub my eyes not wanting to be awake yet, sadly the peace doesn't last long as someone jumps on the lounge. I bounce jolting fully awake growling at Decker I glare at him all he does is give me a smug smirk. Rolling my eyes, I turn over to my back putting my legs on his. I cover my face with my arm blocking out the lights almost dozing off when Decker nudges my leg, moving my arm I find Darius standing next to the lounge holding two steaming bowls. Sitting up he hands me the bowl I find porridge in it. Darius goes to sit further away instead I pull him down almost spilling his bowl of porridge once he's settled, I lean against him quick to eat the porridge. As the three of us eat in silence it is the first time there has not been an argument or anything of the sorts. Which is nice in a way, I have come to the realisation that if it were truly possible, I would be happy here and my parents would have been happy. Why has this whole thing brought back me needing to think about my parents and how I could be living a simple life not a wild one. I can't leave it now or anytime soon anyway so what's the point in getting comfortable. My role is to stick with Ensley fighting for the weak and the things she needs me to do. A quick succession of knocks rattle on the door, Darius puts his bowl on the floor slowly standing up checking to make sure I don't fall back. Watching him open the door he looks back to me saying it's for me confused I swing my legs off Decker who had been using my legs as a phone stand to watch his screen. His phone falls quickly catching it before it drops on the floor. I greet mike walking out the door ready for a new day of training and a new day of challenges. Luckily the morning training consisted of light weights, going for a run and a quick spar in which I win. To change things up mike asks. "Would you like to go on a walk around the pack lands?" He looks away nervous. "I guess it can't hurt to have a look around" I smile at him letting him lead the way on dirt paths winding into stone with buildings all round some having moss or vines creeping up their sides adding to the natural look of the place, yet it still has electricity. Light poles rise above the houses on the edges of the sidewalks. Trees surround the area so if someone were to see it from above, they wouldn't see anything except the greenery. As we walk down the main street, I find wolves stopping to stare at me whispers trailing behind me, yet no one steps towards me or crowds around wanting to know about me. Mike rambles about each place we walk past I make sure to remember all the twists and turns, the information given basically everything I could know about Darius's territory. I stop in front of a café looking shop I look through the window seeing the lively inside brightly lit up. The door chimes showing Arya the girl I met at the lake. A soft smile weaves its way upon my face. She spies me pushing past people to stand next to me. "Have a good evening I'll see you later" Mike politely leaves. We move along not following a set path letting the bustle of wolves guide us along. "Oh, I know the perfect place for a relaxing day," Arya declares marching off the brick path into the forest. Shortly coming to a small meadow full of yellow and white flowers almost shining as bright as the sun. Eagerly finding a grassy spot to sit down near a stream listening to the slow calm water trickling past. Arya sits next to me laying down in the soft grass looking up to the white clouds "This is the most peace and quiet I have had for a while" Arya calmy says relaxing into the warmth. "I agree this right here is one of the most relaxing days I have had in a long time, I don't want it to end anytime soon" Laying down I use my arms as a head rest closing my eyes soaking in the sun contempt with doing nothing but laying down for the rest of the day. "When was the last time you got to get away from it all" "Hmm probably a couple years ago when I was recovering from an injury" The time when I had to stay with Ensley so she could heal me and make sure I didn't die or something else happen to me. It was one of the worst injuries I had gotten, and Mike didn't know what to do or how to help so he took me to Ensley bleeding out with a torn shirt tied around my midsection holding my guts in. Luckily with a lot of help I made a full recovery with no complications. "Sounds like that was a long time ago, I would've said sometime last year was the last time I was able to be in a peaceful space without needing to hurry off to do something" The grass rustles as she moves closer resting her head on my side using me as a pillow. "I'll have to steal you away more often than" A snicker escapes Arya as she nods eagerly. Quickly shushing her I sit up pushing her up as well I look around scanning the tall grass listening to the soft crunching of dry grass. Looking in the direction where the most noise is coming from; I wait for whoever it is to show themselves. The footsteps break apart moving around us one staying behind the other moving towards us. Growling out I get myself ready to pounce on whoever is trying to sneak up on us. Arya looks around wearily not sure what to do, holding her down I make sure I can protect her from any direction. Suddenly a cold shocks me as a sludge of mud and thick red blood slides down my body from my head. "That suits you so much better rouge" A condescending voice calls out from the grass in front of me joined by a snicker. "Filthy from the dirt you live in and covered in the blood of your meal" Mocking me comes from the wolf behind me. The two bitches walk out each holding a bucket that once contained the sludge. Kaly and Zoe look down at me scornfully. "What are you two middle schoolers because you're acting like a bunch of snobby kids" They laugh at me as they move together looking at each other. "You don't belong in this pack you never will you disgusting rouge" Kaly dryly growls out. "You don't even know what it is like being a part of a pack and you never will know especially not here" Zoe angrily grounds out. I stand up snarling stalking closer to them as they back away from me looking disgusted with a slight fear in their eyes. Readying to pounce on my prey I am stopped by Arya who stands up walking in front of me blocking me from them. She sends me a quick glance over her shoulder with a newfound fire in her eyes she looks to them. "She belongs in this pack more than the both of you do," With a fire in her voice she stands up to her tormentors "All you do is cause trouble for everyone in this pack making everyone hate you and want to shun you from here" Her voice never wavers staying strong she stands tall. The both of them look at her flabbergasted trying to come up with something to say back coming up with nothing. Offended they storm off to the road. "Thank you but you didn't have to do that" Grateful I would move to show my gratitude more but as the mud and blood has mostly dried, I don't think it would be the nicest thing to share. "Don't worry about it, it wasn't a problem" She brushes it off moving me towards the stream where the clear water turns murky as I try to scrub the grime off. Arya try's to help with little help as it clings to my clothes and hair. Removing my shirt as it is now completely ruined, I dump it on the ground, being able to get most of the grime off my body with Arya's help with getting off my back. "I should probably go so I can you know get clean" Looking down at myself mud and blood smeared over most of my body. She nods washing her hands off saying a quick goodbye walking back into the bustling street. Taking the long way back to Darius house I keep to the outside to avoid being stared at and questioned, although they could probably smell the pigs blood on me. Quickly arriving at his house, I open the front door to see the three boys lounging about. Instantly sniffing can be heard and their attention snaps onto me confused. "What happened to you" Greyson questions head tilting to the side eying all the grime on me. "Where did the pig blood come from" Emmet asks curiously wondering where someone would have gotten enough pig blood from. "Who did this to you" Decker asks looking like he wants to run out the door to kill the wolf who did this to me. "Basically, Zoe and Kaly thought they would try to get me to leave by being superior to me" I give the shortest explanation not wanting to go into detail about it. "Pfft, they think they're better than you no way, don't worry we will get revenge" "Who uses pig blood anymore, but yes we are going to get back at them" "Certainly, they will be punished for they have done to you" Brushing them off I move to go into the kitchen to bin my shirt that I am holding, Darius walks in spotting me instantly then the boys who are still looking me over for any injury. He growls at them getting them to quickly avert their eyes from me to the ground I roll my eyes at his antics not caring that there seeing my without a shirt on. He grabs my wrist dragging me to his bathroom upstairs closing both doors taking my shirt he throws it in the bin. He turns the shower on checking the temperature then gets out a flannel I grab it out of his hand not needing help to clean myself. Pointedly I look to the door he understands leaving the room. Locking the door, I strip down hoping into the shower I scrub away all the grime. Washing it out of my hair with the only shampoo and conditioner here which is his. Finishing up I get out drying off I leave the bathroom looking in my bag searching through trying to find anything comfortable to wear to bed but coming up with nothing except for my undergarments, which I put on. Moving over to Darius closet I open it finding it a walk-in closet I quickly grab a random t-shirt putting it on and tossing the towel to the floor. Climbing into his bed I snuggle into the warm sheets sick of the day.
