Charlotte was tattering and all that she thought was about everything but all she wanted was justice, thinking what if she kept on doing it to other elementary schoolers and saved someone's life, she wouldn't be able to get that justice she wanted, but what if this man? But. He had no choice but to give her own justice.
"When you're joyfully driving..." Quinn commenced worden.
"And then you realize, you, just about to crash as you saw you're out of breaks. From a distance you see five workers working on a track and you're now crashing on to them, but on the other side of the track there's one worker who's peacefully resting and listening to a song on his earphones. Now it's your turn to decide, will you crash those five workers or crash on another worker to save the other five?" All of them looked at Quinn's eyes while she was about to bow her head.
"You'll just murder one worker to save those five. Funny fact is, you're innocent and it was an accident but the court will accuse you guilty and of bringing you to jail for a murder case". All of them looked so sad and just realized until Quinn just spoke again.
"The world is unfair"
"But when we moved on and let's say you're at the bridge and beside you, a big fat stranger was leaning on the rail, and you saw the car was about to crash the five.... Will you push the big fat man for the sake of five workers?" All of them chuckled silently.
"The car has already crashed five workers and now one of them has a severe injury and he's about to die, but the others need an organ transplant and they can't wait. Will you waste the life of the worker with severe injury to save the other four innocent workers?"
Atlas emerged asking what she meant and why the question was repeating and so Quinn came up giving an appealing answer.
"It's all about sacrificing and humanity. They are both opposites. That's how, for some reason, you need to answer the same question in different situations. Will you sacrifice for humanity or will you sacrifice for humanity? Never wonder why that situation could happen, but in a big thing called the world, you must do something or else you end up sacrificing yourself and, so it'll affect many things surrounding you."
Atlas held Charlotte's hands. "tell them it's me, it just reflects on both of us" he said.
"But it's not you who did it" Charlotte yelled, which made an echo around the hall.
"I don't want my father to hurt my brother, nor want him to be expelled from this university."
Atlas tried to please her when he got on both of his knees and strained her, but this innocent girl said no. Afterwards, he started to ask if she would expel his brother and, in fact, together with sadness and anxiety coming around her head, she couldn't answer that question with tattering brain.
In order to save five innocent workers, you'll need to sacrifice two people. The driver and another worker got off the track. But why would the driver get involved although it was an accident? As Quinn said, the world is unfair. No one will witness when the driver was alone in the car, no one will prove that it was an accident when the driver could avoid them all. But time was rushing and breaks meant nothing. And so nothing you could ever do but to put the driver in jail and grave the worker who was accidentally murdered. But together with guilt and innocence, maybe for some reason it was balanced, but the court will not consider that, not until the driver didn't hurt any but himself, all alone.
But when we move on in Charlotte's situation, hospitality will be taken away if all of them have that huge effect on every move she makes. And nothing would change because time was ongoing. Will she choose to save one man or to save other students that could be harassed by their brother?
All of them, together with Athlas, ambled down the corridor of the school building bound for the canteen hall to take lunch. Charlotte was about to bow her head from overthinking when she felt the wind caress her face as a hand held her hand. She would have thought it was Quinn, but when she looked at it it was Atlas looking with disapproval and guilt, while you could see in him's eyes a boiling heart of coldness and a helpless man from dark tragedy, as he thinks nothing if it if lead but to die or suffer.
Charlotte was about to nod her head when the cold wind suddenly caressed her face, while she felt Romero just holding her hand. She once. Today it was Quinn, but when she looked at it, it was Atlas who tried to apologize once again.
"And now I find myself thinking a lot about that last point. Tell the truth. And I realized that if I was going to ask you to speak up, I was going to have to tell the truth and be honest with you about the times when I failed to do so. " He said.
Witness proves, witness says, but witness's tongue will twist back when the situation is impossible to solve without sacrificing others. And you're the innocent one, now it's hard to decide. You need to swallow your principle and pride, as long as you want to do something good or just boil your principle and pride to sacrifice one. Sacrificing for the sake of others was heroism, but the worst move. How could you choose between the two?
"We can just save you, you can't protect your brother as always for all of your life" Quinn said as she blocked their way.
"You can't..." Atlas replied, looking down and at the shadows in his eyes formed by his hair.
"In this freaking world, the powerful will always be at the top, and you can't change it that" he added.
"Then what makes your dad powerful?"
"This university...." All of them got confused when he looked directly through Quinn's eyes.
While Ivory curiously asked what he meant, he started to walk again, bound to the canteen hall without answering the query for the sake of his father and their protection.
