"Phew, I...I think we finally lost him," I wheeze breathlessly as I wobble my way in the darkness before groping a chair and flopping down on it heavily, closing my eyes in exhaustion.
I don't know how we managed to escape Thaddeus but I fear that he'll find us sooner or later.
He's not so old nor is he having trouble with navigation for us to lose him so easily. My guess is that something important came up or someone important blocked his way or something.
He's also one of the people who know the ins and outs of the Palace. It only makes sense for him to know the appropriate shortcuts and hidden passageways that Ellen and I have been blindly navigating for who-knows-how-long already.
