PROLOGUE SCARLETT’S POV I bit my bottom lip in frustration, my heels itching to kick that door down. I had been continuously knocking on it for the past five minutes and patience was not exactly a virtue I possessed. Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm down my wrecked nerves. Finally, the door opened, a six feet tall hunk with the healthiest shade of sea-green eyes, stepping out. His slightly long dark hair was a mess, the navy blue tie sticking out of place and not to mention, his white dress shirt was unbuttoned, leaving his well sculptured upper body to the mercy of my gaze. The fading boner was proof enough of what had been happening behind that door. This was certainly not what I signed up for.   “Can I help you?” A frown was patched up lightly on his face as he assessed me with a piercing look.   “As a matter of fact, Mr. Valiente no. I’m Scarlett Simpson, the new CMO of your Company,” I answered but from the look of things, choosing to work for Reed Valiente was going to be the enjoyable ride I thought it would be.   “My what now?” His frowned deepened.   “CMO. Your brother should have told you about this. And if we are going to have a civilized talk, how about you take your w***e somewhere else, get dressed, and probably get a cup of coffee as we talk?” I adjusted my glasses, watching his face quickly morph from shock to anger.   “I’m so going to kill Dominic for this,” he seethed between his teeth.
