The Rogue Agenda

“Ahh, I see you recognize me.” he states lounging back on the couch.  I shake my head in denial, wincing at the headache that stabs between my eyes. He notices immediately, and rises from the couch to come closer. Donald watches nervously as he removes the gag and tilts my head to examine what is likely a black eye and swollen lip from the earlier confrontation. His eyes, so familiar, start to blacken and the tension in the room ratchets up as he licks a finger and uses it to wipe at the blood that’s dried to my face.  “Tsk tsk,” he whispers, bringing his finger to his mouth, “Donald. Come here.”  Immediately, Donald moves to stand beside this unknown man, acting in the same manner as Finn’s men did toward him. He must be an Alpha.  “Donald. How did the she-wolf become injured? Did I not specifically state she was to be kept pristine?”  Donald bows before the man, “Rian, sir, we executed the plan, but she resisted. We were forced to…” “Do not seek to justify your failures,” Rian demands in a soft voice, “You were to bring her to me unharmed, and you failed. If she had not resisted, we would not want her to breed. We need strong wolves, not weaklings such as yourself.”  “Of course, sir. I apologize.”  I don’t think Donald’s bow can get any lower, but he’s practically scraping the ground with his forehead.  Then, Rian leans forward and sniffs around the noticeable hickey Alec left, “She smells of him, but he hasn’t marked her. Still trying to be the boy scout, I see.” His sniff moves slightly, and he starts to growl. “Donald? How is it she smells of you?  “He licked me,” I whisper, finding my voice for the first time. “He said I smelled delicious, and he licked me.”  I don’t see Rian move before Donald is being lifted by the throat and hurled across the room. He follows him to the ground, slamming him to the floor as I watch in horror. Donald doesn’t even attempt to fight back, only pleads with Rian to be understanding, to show mercy.  “You’ve betrayed me.” Rian states with an air of finality, and even as Donald frantically shakes his head, Rian rips out his throat. The blood coats his hands, but he only drops the body nonchalantly before moving back to where I’m standing unsure whether I should start screaming or simply pass out in fright.  This time, Rian bows before gesturing to the house and the men within it, men who did nothing as he viciously killed Donald. “Welcome to your new home. We’ve been waiting for you.”  “Who are you and why am I here?” I ask hesitantly. I don’t want to become the next body on the floor, and it appears Rian is perfectly comfortable killing someone and then moving forward as though nothing out of the ordinary has occurred.  He chucks me under the chin like a grandparent with a small child. It’s quite possibly the most belittling thing that has ever happened to me, and I have to fight the urge to bite his hand, “Oh, is little brother too sad to talk about Rian.” He mimes a pouting face, “Maybe that little fucker shouldn’t have tried to take what was mine.” This last is said in such a tone of venomous hatred that I become concerned about his level of sanity.  “I’m sorry you think he stole me from you,” I start, hoping to k****e some type of camaraderie, “I didn’t know you even existed. Alec never said he had a brother.”  His laughter is bone-chilling, “You place too much value on yourself if you think this is about you. Besides, he never had you. He didn’t even bother to mark you so great was his arrogance. Now he has nothing. No recourse. And right now,” he reaches down and forces his hand between my legs, “you’re so deep into your heat, you’d f**k any d**k that made your p***y wet. You won’t be able to help it once your wolf comes out. You’ll be begging me for it. And when you, his mate, have my bastard in you, I’ll challenge him for Alpha.” I feel like I’m going to be sick, “Is that why I’m here? To f**k and get back at Alec? What’d he do to you that’s turned you into a r****t?”  He hisses, grabbing me around the throat, and I know he can smell my terror as I imagine joining Donald in a puddle of blood on the floor, “He had me declared Rogue. And then, he tried to pass a death sentence. On his own brother.”  Abruptly, he releases his choking hold and I fall to my knees coughing. “Take her to the lab. We need her wolf to come out for fertility to be assured. Do what you have to.” As they drag me down the hall, I know the only thing that matters is I don’t change. No matter what they do to me, I can’t allow myself to become the wolf.
