Well that was odd

Devin POV

I felt like all the wind was knocked out of me. This goddess of a woman was standing in the doorway. She had this glowing cocoa skin that looked like it was kissed by the sun. Her eyes were a beautiful brown (even though they didn’t quite seem to match her), she was so curvy and thick in all the right places. My hands were itching to touch her; I wanted to get lost in those curves and glide across her smooth skin. My eyes fell on her full kissable lips, I wanted to know how they would feel if they were wrapped around my……MATE!!!!!! I was so lost in thought that I couldn’t even hear my wolf screaming Mate at me! Once he got my attention I was hit with the most intoxicating scent I’ve ever met. She smelled like vanilla and baby oil. I can’t believe this woman is my mate.

Anna POV

Emma promised to show me around the pack house once we settled in. We walked past a large living area with a bunch of couches that had people sprawled out over them. We walked past an enormous dining room, three times the size of the one at my old pack. Just past that had to be the kitchen but I couldn’t really tell. Instead we made a left and were met with a grand staircase. We went up to the third floor where Emma’s room was. She explained on the way that the Beta and Gamma share the second floor, the third floor was for her parents and her, the top floor was all for her brother since he was the Alpha. That’s where his family will life once he finds his mate. We finally reached Emma’s room and my mouth was hanging wide open. This cannot be described as a room. She had a living area, a small kitchenette, a ridiculous size bedroom with the biggest walk-in closet I’ve ever seen. All of this with a spa-like en-suite that had a giant soaker tub, a shower that could fit ten people, a vanity area, double sinks, bidet, and marble walls and floors. I could not believe she left this lifestyle for one minute. “Yeah I know it’s big and flashy” Emma interrupted my thoughts, “it’s supposed to be for me and my mate once I find him. It’s big enough that we can live here while we decide whether we will live in the packhouse or build a house on the pack grounds.” “Which one do you want?” I asked. “I think I’d like a house of my own but I guess it’s really up to my mate” she said. I nodded and went to sit on the couch. This really have been a long 36hrs. I just wanted to take a shower, eat and go to bed. “Why don’t you take a shower and get comfortable. I can have lunch brought up here and then we can talk and make a plan” Emma said. That was the best thing I heard all day. I nodded in agreement and went to the bathroom to take a shower. I put my hair up and turned the water to the hottest temperature I could stand. I stepped under the water and let out a soft moan. This shower felt amazing as it had a waterfall shower head and wall sprayers. Emma opened the door and said she was heading down to the kitchen to have them make lunch for us. I mumbled okay as I was still thoroughly enjoying my shower. After 20 minutes, I stepped out feeling more like myself. I decided to just put on some black Nike leggings and a black and white Nike t-shirt. Once I was dressed I started hearing yelling. I know I shouldn’t be nosy but I decided to follow the sound anyway. The hallway smelled like rain and coffee. I made a mental note to ask Emma where they bought their wall plugins at. As I reached a door, I heard Emma and some other guy yelling back and forth. I was going to turn around until I realized they were yelling about me. Her brother was saying some not so nice things about me and Emma. That enraged me. I know Emma didn’t tell him everything but she didn’t deserve to be berated for it. I through the door open and was met with a fuming god-like figure. He stood at 6”3 and was built like a football player. His arms were barely contained by his shirt, he had a broad muscular chest, and large hands. His hazel eyes drew me in and what I wouldn’t give to run my hands long his carmel skin. I shook my head trying to remember just why I came in here. For some reason this was the calmest I’ve felt since I’ve seen Beta Keegan. I finally found my voice and asked “what seems to be the problem?” The guy (who I assumed was her brother) never answered. He was just staring at me. Emma was glaring at him and I was left looking between them two. Stephen finally spoke up “Anna this is Devin, Emma’s brother, and Alpha of the pack.” I figured as much. I understand that I’m supposed to give Devin some respect since he was the Alpha. I guess I can’t yell at him like I want to; especially since I need to stay here while I figure out my next move. I cleared my thought, extended my hand, and said “nice to meet you Alpha.” He looked at my hand like it was foreign. I was about to draw it back but he quickly grabbed it and brought my hand to his lips, he kissed it and said “the pleasure is all mine.” I pulled my hand back and rubbed the spot he kissed as it was now tingling. I gave him a puzzled look. This man was just screaming at Emma for bringing me here and now he’s full of charm. Before I could asked what was going on, an omega she was here with the food. Before Emma could respond, Devin told the omega to bring it up to the family dining room on the Alpha floor and to bring more up for everyone. He then asked Emma to take me to the dining room and he’ll meet us there in a couple minutes. Now I was thoroughly confused. Emma grabbed my hand and mumbled “come on Anna.” I began following her out but looked back to see Devin staring at me; and I definitely think I saw his eyes flick from Hazel to Green.
