Anna POV

I woke up really warm. Why was I warm? As I began to shift some I heard a grumble and was pulled tighter against a hard chest. Realization flooded through me as I rubbed Devin’s arm. He must have carried me to bed last night. Flashes of me being thoroughly pleased came rushing to my brain. Devin is definitely less rough than Lee. I don’t know which one I enjoyed more; all I know is I could go for that 1-2 combo again. Just thinking about it had me starting to get wet. “You need to calm down. I can smell your arousal and it’s hard enough to keep my composure as is”. My mate's voice filled the room. I blushed. It’s not my fault it’s his and his wolf. “Can you blame me reliving one of the best dates I ever had? I’ll never be able to look at that table the same again!” I said with a chuckle. Devin shifted so he was looking at me. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself” he said with a smirk and placed a quick kiss on my lips. “My shirt looks good on you. I think you should wear my clothes more often” he said. I looked down and realized I was wearing his shirt from last night. Oh yeah, he ripped my clothes to shreds. “You owe me an outfit,” I said. He chuckled and said “you were looking so good I just had to tear it off of you. But you’re right, why don’t you go shopping today. You can take Emma and Stephen with you”. Shopping sounded fun but I haven’t been outside of the pack grounds since I came here. I was running out of color contacts and hair dye though. I’m not sure how I can buy those things without raising an alarm. Maybe I just shouldn’t go. It’s risky considering we have no clue where Marcus is exactly. “Where’d you go?” Devin asked, waving a hand in front of my face. “Sorry about that, maybe I could just…” I stopped as his eyes were glazing over so I knew he was getting a mindlink. “That was Emma. She is excited about shopping and she thinks she found a location for the practice and wants to show you” Devin said. I guess there’s no getting out of this one. I’ll just have to figure out how to slip away. “Well I better go to my room and get ready. You know how Emma is, she’ll come looking for me soon” I said. Devin nodded in agreement and I began to get up when he pulled me back to him. “How do you feel about moving your things in here?” he asked, apprehension apparent in his voice. “I think I can handle that babe,” I said with a smile. He let out a sigh of relief and kissed me passionately. The kiss was tender but firm. He was totally in control and I was happy to let him take me on this journey. He thrusted his tongue in my mouth as he deepened the kiss. I met him move by move and took the opportunity to start sucking and biting his bottom lip. This caused him to growl and pushed me down onto the bed. Just as he began kissing down my neck there was a knock at the door. “Is Anna in there? I went by her room and she wasn’t there” Emma screamed while still knocking. Devin sighed and I laughed. “I’m coming Em” I said. I looked at Devin and the irritation was etched on his face. “I wanted to be the one you told you were coming, '' he said while pouting. I giggled at that and said, “Rain check babe”. He huffed but rolled off of me because we both knew Emma was about to start knocking again. “I’ll have the omegas bring your clothes over and organize them in the closet. After you go shopping, if we need more space then we can discuss how to add some more storage” he said. “Thanks babe” I said as I got up to go to the door. I opened the door just as Emma’s fist was in the air to knock again. “Finally!! You need to hurry up and get ready. We have so much to do today!” she said. I looked over at Devin and mouthed “help me”. He just laughed, waved, and turned to go to the bathroom as Emma started pulling me away. Emma walked me all the way to my room and pushed me in the bathroom. She told me I only have 15 minutes or she’ll be coming in with me. I turned on the shower not wanting to argue with her and stepped under the water. I tried to figure out how I’m going to buy the contacts without anyone noticing. It’s probably time to dye my hair too. I usually have someone come to me but I don’t know who I could trust to dye my hair without asking questions. I stepped out of the shower still unsure of what to do. I came out to Emma sitting on my bed scrolling through her phone. I rolled my eyes and walked into the closet to get dressed. I chose simple black Nike leggings and a matching black shirt. I put on a lacy red matching pant and bra set underneath. The thought of Devin peeling this off of me crossed my mind. I smiled and shook my head. I’ll have to cross that bridge tonight. I emerged from the closet to see Emna and Steve standing waiting on me. I walked to the mirror to comb my hair. I put it up in a messy bun and decided to forgo any makeup. I turned to them and said “Let’s go” and I grabbed my purse and walked out the room.

We got into Steve’s Dodge Ram pickup truck and began driving away. My anxiety levels started skyrocketing as we got further away from the pack. I quietly tried to control my breathing as I decided I needed a distraction. “So Emma, tell me about the buildings you’ve picked out for us to look at”. That got her all excited. She began describing three locations that she thought were perfect. Each one had good parking, was near restaurants, and didn’t have another practice in the area. These options sounded great and I truly missed treating clients. As we pulled up to the first location, I started getting excited too. A realtor met us and walked us around the location. The outside looked nice but the inside was a bit small. The second location was too big. We weren’t at the level to need a huge office. I started to feel like Goldilocks. As we approached the third location I was hoping it was “just right”. As we walked inside we were met with a very spacious waiting room. It could fit 10-20 people depending on how we set it up. There was a receptionist desk and a door for a restroom. “I think we should repaint this space and pick out some decor that would be warm and inviting” I said to Emma. She agreed and began walking to the back where we’d have our offices. There were four equal size offices each with their own bathroom, a full sized kitchen, and a break room with tables to eat at. I could really see us moving in this place and growing it. Emma walked up to me and said “I love it. It needs some renovation and our style added to it but I think it could work” I linked my arm through hers, smiled brightly at her and said “I think we found our home!”

After talking to the realtor about putting in an offer, we headed over to the mall. I wasn’t sure what all I would need now that I was expected to be a Luna to a pack. Emma seemed to be prepared though as she dragged me from store to store getting casual clothes, dress clothes, a couple evening dresses for parties I would have to throw and attend at other packs, and tons of lingerie. Last stop was for sexy clothes for dates. I was looking at myself in the dressing room mirror and being surprised I could look this good. I was in a tight, short, backless red dress that showed a lot of cleavage, and hugged all my curves. I stepped out of the waiting room and Steve dropped his phone. “Wow you look amazing. Red is definitely your color. Devin really is a lucky man” he said. I blushed at his comment and turned to Emma. She was smiling ear to ear so I knew this was the one. “Girl, I don't think you can get any hotter! Devin definitely owes me after this” she said. I laughed and turned back to look in the mirror. This dress was amazing and I can’t wait to show Devin. After choosing several other choices, we made the last stop at the pharmacy. I convinced them to stay in the car as I told them I’d be quick. I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked inside. Thankfully, they had the same hair color and contacts that I used. I grabbed some other things like deodorant, lotion, and body wash to make it look like this is what I really came in for. I grabbed some massage oil too, thinking about using it with Devin. I was so in thought I turned and ran right into a woman. I apologized profusely and helped her pick up items. She looked familiar but I didn’t know why. Either way she thanked me and we went our separate ways. I paid and got back in the car. As we drove away, I couldn’t shake the feeling I knew that girl. Maybe she was from my old pack but I had no clue we were even near it. I moved across the country to Virginia so I could be far away from everything. I turned to Steve and said “hey, I never asked in all the commotion, but where are we located exactly?” “We’re in Southern California. Why? What’s wrong?” he asked. I stayed quiet for a while as I couldn’t breathe. We had just crossed back through the pack borders when Steve pulled over and him and Emma were staring at me. I hopped out of the car and started pacing as they got out to stop me. Emma grabbed my arms and asked “What’s wrong Anna?” I looked at her with tears in my eyes and said “My pack is from Northern California and Alpha Marcus stayed somewhere in the middle. I walked right back into the lion's den”.
