So Much to Do So Little Time

Days began passing one after another. She trained after breakfast while watching the videos. After lunch she read the books to gain knowledge of not only her heritage but of how the pack laws worked. If things were as the books said her father was destined to die a horrible death for killing his Luna. By rights she was the one who decided the method of his demise. There were several methods, all were fatal. She wasn't sure she could condemn him, he was her father after all. In her evenings she pondered these things while working on her costume. The dress she had picked was beautiful and antique already. She found a corset that was in with the clothes that fit perfectly. With a few adjustments to the waist and some alterations to the neckline and hems she had a basic antique white floor length gown. She would use the off white lace and ribbons to dress up the bodice and waist to make it more formal. It would take a while but she also planned to hand bead the bodice with pearls for dramatic affect. She would need formal shoes and somehow she had to fabricate a mask. She found herself getting more excited as the second week came to a close. Victor would be coming soon to bring supplies and give her updates on everything happening back in the real world. Her birthday was only one week away. She was counting the days. She would be able to sense her mate and she would get to meet her wolf. Her excitement was only surpassed by the nervous caution she was feeling. Saturday came and went with no sign of Victor. She paced the floor of the cottage worrying that he may not show at all. She followed her routine and tried tho keep busy but she was still a bit distracted. Finally she had enough and decided a hot bath would help relax her. Climbing in tho the hot water she instantly felt better. She sunk deep in to the soft bubbles she had poured for herself. She allowed the water and sweet jasmine fragrance surround her. Once she had soothed her nerves and decided he'd be back probably Sunday her mind calmed itself. Her body and nerves were almost completely relaxed she heard a faint voice in her head. Hello Serenity. Who is this? Serenity said out loud. You don't need to talk I can hear you inside of us. Are you my wolf? Yes. My name is Amira. I have been here all along. But you're early. Well now is that really much of a surprise? We do have Alpha blood. Strong and vibrant Alpha blood. I guess you're right, I'm not sure how this works to be honest Amira. Oh hunny you are a natural. Trust me you are a very important lady, destined for greatness. Amira? Yes Serenity. Are you sure we can do this? With me and our mate by our side we will make mountains move. We can do all things together. Do you know our mate? Yes. Will you tell me? When the time is right, yes. So I won't know until the gathering? I did not say that. I said when the time is right. Amira? Yes. You have a beautiful voice. Thank you, so do you. When will I get to see you? If you like we can go outside for a run. Do you think anyone would mind? Should they? I don't know. I could use some fresh air. So why not, you need to know what is like to shift and how to behave as an alpha if need be. Serenity agreed and climbed out of the bath wrapping a towel around her body. There was no need for clothes as she had to be nude when she shifted. Part of her was excited and scared all at once. She hoped it wouldn't hurt. Walking out to the front door she was determined to be strong. She exited the cottage in to the dark of night. She shivered with excitement as the glow of the moon engulfed her. How do we begin Amira? Relax, breathe, I will do all of the work. Simply remove the towel. It will hurt minimally the first time, just don't fight the shift. Okay. Serenity let the towel fall to the ground. She felt the warmth spread over her body. Slowly her body started changing. Bones began moving in to different positions. She hurt but not like when she was beaten. Her skin was covered in snow white fur. Her heart rate had increased and she could smell everything. Her senses heightened. She could hear someone talking from outside of the grove. In her wolf form she ran towards the voices. Carefully she padded quieter than she knew she could. We must stop before we get there, whoever's it is cannot see us. I understand Amira, I promise we won't be caught. They slowed down and crept to a cautious walk. Once they felt they were close enough they hid behind a small bush. Why are we protecting this stupid cottage? Nobody has even been out here in years. the one brown wolf was frustrated. Do you smell that? The other grey wolf asked. What? That smell. Fresh mulberries. You i***t the cottage is surrounded by mulberries. Right, sorry. I just thought there was something more. Whatever. Alpha Thaddeus has sent us on a s**t detail. He knows there's nothing or nobody interested in anything out here. Just do what your told Malik. Alpha Thaddeus knows what he's doing. He should he's been studying the past year instead of ascending right away and taking over. Shut it Malik. He did what he thought was best. He wants to be the best Alpha for our pack. Whatever Dian. Wait did you hear that? Amira barely moved but he had heard her. Serenity we have to go. The one heard us. Back away slowly. As she started slowly backing out of the bush they caught site of her. Rogue. Malik was about to shout it to the others when he was slammed in the side of his head with a huge rock. Run. Dian said softly to her. Amira turned taking them both quickly and quietly out of the area. They ran straight to the cottage. Once safe Serenity shifted back. She ran inside locking the doors and turning out the lights. Who was he? Serenity ask Amira. I don't know, but he seemed to be on our side. I'm so grateful for that. Serenity sighed softly. Me too. They stayed inside the remainder of their night watching out the windows for any signs of someone coming. Falling asleep by the window wasn't what she wanted to do but it rushed over her and she slipped deep in to sleep. Her dreams were plagued with the anger in Malik's eyes when he saw her. He terrified her. Who was he? And why was she scared?
