Chapter 12 It had been a long time since Gideon had woken up on the floor. In spite of his more dangerous tendencies, he had always been a vampire of creature comforts. He liked a good whiskey, a better steak, and a firm mattress. The cold floor of a dungeon with his arm for a pillow was not his idea of a good time. Grimacing, he sat up, rolling his neck until it cracked.
