Chapter Twelve

I didn’t even know what time it was. We’d finished dinner around an hour ago, and I had just finished washing up. As expected, his clothes were much too big for me, even though we look around the same size. “Hyung,” I told him, “is the shirt supposed to be this big?” “That was the smallest size I could find…sorry,” he muttered to me, an embarrassed look playing in his expression. “It’s fine. It’s not your fault anyway.” He then throws himself onto his bed and picks up his phone, just to jolt back up again. His gaze then shifts to mine for a brief moment, then back to his phone. “”D’you tell your dad that you’re staying over for the weekend?” he asked. “Yeah…” I muttered. I then sat myself right beside him, crouching my legs up to my chest. “Do you mind sleeping in the same room as me?” “No, not at all!” he said, “I would much prefer sleeping with you than one of us staying all alone.” Suddenly, the sweet grin he gave me disappeared, and he looked deep in thought. “Wait…” I heard him mutter to himself. “That came out wrong, sorry…” “What do you mean?” I asked. “It just sounds wrong…” he muttered to me in an embarrassed tone. Then that’s when the subtle feeling of realization hit. He meant the term when you f**k someone…again. “My God…” I whispered to myself, “You dirty-minded bastard.” Immediately, I straddled him onto the bed, pinning him down with both my arms. Of course, I meant this in a friendly way. I didn’t want to make things seem awkward between us. I managed to get on top of him, while he was laid down on the bed, two arms pinning him down to the bed. The look in his eyes were shocked yet happy, and he’d been smiling adorably like he always would. I never want to let go of this moment ever in my life. Slowly, he loops his arms around my neck and caresses that part of my skin gently with his thumb. “I’m pretty sure something’s gonna interrupt us any minute now,” he said, his voice shaken and quiet. “Yeah,” I said as I rolled myself onto the other side of the bed. I gazed up at the ceiling for a while, not even speaking a word. Suddenly, all I could see was bleakness, but I knew I wasn’t asleep. “That was the power,” Wook-jin told me, “It turns off several times a day because there was some improvements that are being made in the electric systems, so don’t worry if the lights suddenly go off. It’ll eventually come back on it’s own.” I sigh and pick my phone up from it’s charger. “12:05 a.m.,” it read. Again, I stay silent for a while, watching how the numbers shone against my face in this darkness we were in. “What do you plan to do today?” I asked, breaking our brief silence. “Today?” he asked. “It’s already 12 o’clock,” I muttered. “Oh.. I see.” He pauses for a while. “Wanna go to the movies? Or maybe…just stroll around the city for a while? …Sorry, I couldn’t think of anything else.” “No, no, it’s alright! But I think we should maybe go to the movies together. It’ll help me with art block.” “What should we watch?” he asked in a tired voice, rolling over so we would be inches apart. “What about a horror?” I asked. “Perfect,” he said, rolling over so he would be laid flat on his back. My eyelids were getting heavy, and I could feel myself starting to drift off to sleep. “I guess I’m gonna sleep now,” I muttered in a tired voice, “Goodnight.” “Goodnight, “I hear him whisper in return. . . . I woke with a beam of sunlight casted upon my face and hands. A hand had been gripping my waist tightly, yet I wasn’t sure why it was. The warmth of Wook-jin’s body had been so pleasing against mine, even though we hadn’t been touching. I slid my hand over his, despite the fact that I had been in panic on the inside. Slowly, I turn around and realize he was much closer than I thought he was. The little thrill in my chest had been so loud I swear it could be heard. My breaths, so heavy and agitated that I barely knew what to do. Slowly, I try to push myself away from him as quietly as I could, trying my best to not wake him. Yet every time I did, he seemed to grasp me tighter. He groaned drowsily and pulled me close; the exact opposite thing I wanted him to do. I push myself away, eventually falling onto the floor. “Ouch!” I exclaimed, yet was uttered in a whisper. I peek over the edge of the bed. Still sleeping. He’s a rather deep sleeper, isn’t he? Eyes shut tightly, and posture relaxed. You could instantly tell he wouldn’t be up any time soon. I seat myself on the edge of the bed, phone in one hand, while one lay on his head, caressing his midnight black hair that’d seemed to grow yellowish in the sunlight. He’s beautiful even when he’s asleep, I thought. I couldn’t help but stare for a while. How could I possibly resist looking at this beautiful face of his? I caress his cheek once more, then finally stand up, heading to the bathroom right after. The water from the shower were shooting onto my back like little bullets. It was much better than the shower at home. I didn’t really know if I was allowed to use the shower without Wook-jin’s permission, so I tried to rush it just the slightest bit. Immediately, I came back into the room and got into a casual fit (typically meaning a hoodie with sweats). I also didn’t know if Wook-jin would mind if I wore these, since I’ve seen him use this hoodie quite often. He was still asleep, though, so I couldn’t ask him if I could use these or whatnot. “Hyung,” I whisper. Yet all he answers with is a tired groan. “Hyung…wake up. It’s late.” “Five more minutes,” I heard him say. Gently, he tugs my arm and pulls me close to him. Something I hadn’t expected whatsoever. My heart raced, yet my eyes were glued to his, not even daring to look away. “Okay, five more minutes then,” I spoke as quietly as I could muster. And I just sat there, half my body sat on the ground while my chest lay on the bedside. Slowly, I raise my hand up to his cheeks and caress it, grazing my fingers over his skin just barely. I wanted to kiss that soft skin of his; the tenderness of his lips, and the way that they’re glossed even without lip balm makes it even more irresistible. Gently, I tap him on the shoulder, checking if he was awake. “Hyung,” I whisper, “Are you awake? Please don’t tell me you are…” No response. This was my chance. Slowly, I lean in and plant a brief kiss on his lips, immediately pulling away after. I know it isn’t right to kiss someone without their consent, but I couldn’t stop myself at that point. I was too tempted. I wanted to keep my lips on his forever. I never wanted to pull away, even though I knew I had to at some point. “Hyung,” I say, “Wake up. Five minutes past long ago.” He groans tiredly and his eyes raise themselves open. Those coal grey eyes were glazed with what looked like sleep, and it looked like he’d just cried. “Too bright…” I hear him mutter, flinching just slightly as he opened his eyes. “What time is it?” “8:05 a.m.” I told him. “s**t,” he said, laying a hand over his eyes. I snicker, knowing he was most likely displeased with the time. “I’m sorry,” he said. “What should you be sorry for?” I asked. “I’m afraid we might’ve missed the chance go to the movies today,” he muttered, “The tickets should’ve been pre-ordered a day before the actual streaming premiere…but I couldn’t order them yesterday, since the power went out and everything…” “That’s completely fine!” I told him, “We can just go out together if you’d like. We don’t even need a specific place to go to.” “You sure?” “Of course I am. Now get up. I’ll be in the kitchen…” I help him get up, gently holding him from his shoulders. I gaze at him for a brief moment, looking straight into those coal grey eyes of his. And he looked back at me. His tired eyes looking straight at me made my heart race, but I didn’t want to let go of the feeling. I smile timidly, standing back up and heading out to the kitchen.
