Ella Kane glanced at me once more before turning away, the corner of his lips lifting into a quiet, unreadable smile. He didn’t say anything. Instead, he walked straight into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. I stared at the door for a second, then let out a soft breath. So… he agreed. At least, that’s what I assumed. Satisfied, I rolled onto my side, tugged the blanket higher, and switched off the lamp. The room fell into darkness, lit only by thin bands of moonlight slipping through the curtains. Good.
