Rorick Surprisingly, lunch with everyone wasn’t as boring as I thought it would be. I had to be growing soft if their trivial conversations actually interested me in any way. I wanted to get to know them for some reason and it wasn’t just because Ryl was smiling at them as they told her stories, or because it was just nice to rest for a while after weeks of running. No, this was different. Looking at Mel’s wide smile reminded me of my youngest brother. Her laugh was just as infectious as his. He laughs because he craves just as much destruction as they did. The rage was there but muted. It was so soft I barely heard it as it tried again to tempt me from behind the walls. That was all it was anymore. A simple voice. No force behind it that was willing me into action or emotions to help
