Alana's POV
I looked right at him, scared and unsure of what to do but my senses picked up. She needed help. Immediately, I stood up and ran to the kitchen. He followed me and got the sugar that she needed while I decided to fetch her.
My sister came out just then, staggering and trembling.
“Sugar. Sugar. Sugar.” She kept reciting.
I turned back and shouted, panicking as I yelled at Ryan to get me a spoon as I dragged her to the counter. He was calm about everything and he got a spoon for me.
Amanda was breathing hard, it was terrifying. It wasn't so often that she got these crises from low blood sugar levels and it terrified me even more than when it was high because it was deadlier. She could just slip and fall to her death, and that would kill me too.
I opened the jar of sugar then scooped a spoon of sugar. Urging her to open her mouth, I began to feed her with it. As I fed her, I waited for her to swallow.
After making her ingest four spoons of sugar, I let her rest on the stool, the same stool Ryan had just made me release.
“What's wrong with her?” Ryan finally spoke, his voice cutting through the silence as I folded my arms, watching my sister and waiting for the sugar to make effect.
“Her blood sugar level is low.”
“I see.” He nodded thoughtfully but I knew he still had no idea.
“You didn't understand that, did you?” I asked, my arms folded as I glared at him.
“Not quite, but maybe I'll do my research.”
“You already know she's sick and that she's diabetic, but this is her true reality. She's not so grown up yet to understand the situation properly so she acts out, and I have to take care of her every time. It's hard. It's been so hard…”
Then I trailed off, tears brimming as I remembered everything I had done to get here. Clerks, company extras, salesworker, cleaning, even stripping. I immediately wiped my tears off my face while he watched. Asshole. I never cried for anyone or in front of Amanda, it showed weakness.
Soon, Alana finally returned to her usual self. Her hands were still trembling a little but I knew she was fine, she could walk.
She left the stool by herself and exchanged glances at the both of us. When she noticed it was him, she jerked and gasped, her hand flying across her mouth in sheer horror.
“I'm so sorry about what just happened, kind sir. I promise it won't ever happen again, please don't get mad at my sister–”
She stuttered.
“It's okay. I understand you. Whatever you need, just tell me, okay? I'm sorry.”
Ryan spoke in an unfamiliar soft voice. Even his features softened and he looked relaxed and calm. It was rare to see him like that. He walked away, his eyes hardening and sending a dark message across. I gulped as my eyes followed him in fear of what would happen if he caught me again, alone.
“Let's go back to sleep. There's still hours left before daytime.”
She urged, dragging my hands and making me follow her. I did, lost in thought. I was about to suck him off. The thought made my thighs clench as I thought about it.
“Why did you leave? Why were you together with your boss at that odd hour?”
My senses paused. She noticed that. Soon I began to search my brain for a quick lie.
“Oh, that. Well uhm, well, you see. It was nothing,” I scratched behind my head for no reason. “I got hungry so I decided to whip up something quickly but he was already there so we just talked for a while.”
“Hmm.” She said in a teasing voice, like she knew something.
“What?” I asked defensively.
“There's something odd about this.” She continued on, and heat rushed to my cheeks, fear gripped me and I swallowed. Did she catch us?
“Why, why do you think so?” I asked.
“I'm still a hundred percent sure he wants to sleep with you. When it happens, tell me about it!”
My shoulders relaxed like ice was poured on them. Phew, she was clueless.
“I doubt that.” I shook my head with a frown and for once I was glad it was dark out because I would hate for her to see my flushed cheeks.
“My eyes can't deceive me, I wonder why you're older but stupid about these things. That's how you ended up with Tony.”
“Hey!” I yelled but she ran off laughing.
I sighed. Same girl that staggered towards me a couple of minutes ago was now running. The routine was crazy.
Immediately we got back, I pulled her back just before she could throw herself on my bed. I wasn't taking any chances. I left her there and rushed to the kitchen to take the sugar and spoon.
We didn't sleep for the next hour. I went to her room to take out her strips and glucometer as well to check her exact sugar level and make sure she was stable.
The first time we checked, it was still a bit low. No wonder her hands were still trembling. I fed her another spoon and we waited for the next fifteen minutes. Finally, it was stable. I let her go back to bed, tucked properly under the sheets. This would definitely be her last time here. I only let her because it was only fair.
Soon she slept off and I lay there, thinking about none other than Ryan. My phone pinged just then so I picked it up. It was a message from an unknown number.
“You've not escaped this, so don't think you have. I let you go because of your sister. Had it been anybody else…”
Then another one came in.
“You'll serve me double tomorrow. Be a good girl and take it.”
Ryan.
How did he even get my number? My cheeks heated and my thighs clenched as I bit my lips seductively. f**k, he was so hotttt!
