I didn't understand why I was called into what seemed to be a family gathering. Even Arthur looked as though he was in shock with the more words that left his father's mouth. I could tell by the way he stood up straighter and looked between his father and I; even the way his eyes widened and darkened a shade told me all I needed to know.
