The two raced from the bus stop till they got home
Ciara was the first to get home. She dashed in through the yard and stopped at the front door. She didn't want her mother to go telling on her to her dad that she had Branch all the way from the busstop with Archie. They dad would cut her weekly pocket money or better still stop her from attending her martial art classes and she didn't want that. Ciara was still trying to put her self in order when Archie breezed in. He would have fallen if Ciara didn't hold him.
"Yo sucker, you don't use such speed to stop a race unless you want to end up in the hospital", Ciara said laughing. She had always been free spirited, laughing at any given opportunity. She had nothing to hold her back or reason to restrain her emotions. She was just a free high school girl who loved freedom. Her father always said she was like the wind and that nothing could stop her. As a little girl she was determined to soar high with the restrain and also she was going to do everything in her power to protect the people she loved. Ciara was also really mischievous.
Archie rolled his eyes and swatted Ciara's hands away and moved into the house after catching his breath.
Ciara laughed and followed suit.
Their first destination when they got in was the kitchen. That was where their mum would probably be. Evelyn their mother loved cooking. Even if she was weak or sick, she still do strive to cook something for them. Ciara and her siblings always enjoyed their mother's dishes. Ciara and Archie met their mother and younger sister Mina preparing lunch actually, Mina the eight year old girl was sitting on a chair with an open pack of Snickers candy bar in front of her. Her mouth were filled up with candy and her lips dusted with crumbs of candy. She looked cute, and Ciara really wanted to tease her, but she held her self back. There was still another time.
" Hi mum", Archie and Ciara greeted as they kissed their mum on her forehead.
" Archie, Ciara, I wondered what took your time", Evelyn asked.
"Nothing mum", Ciara hurriedly answered.
" Ciara!!", Evelyn called looking at her daughter warily.
Ciara Chuckled and to escape her mother's inquisitive gaze turned to her younger sister.
" Hey Mina how are you".
Mina pretended to notice the presence of her siblings for the first time.
"Ciara, Arch welcome back", Mina said chewing a candy bar.
"No we're not", Archie replied rolling his eyes at his drama queen of a sister.
" Mina how was school today", Ciara asked ruffling the little girls hair.
Mina pouted as she answered.
" School was awesome, we have a new homeroom teacher and she is pretty. She even book me cookies during lunch after I got a question right", Mina replied munching her Candy bar as if her life depended on it.
" You too should go upstairs and change then come down for lunch", Evelyn said as she steered the white sauce she was preparing.
" Alright mum", Ciara replied and dashed up to her room. While Archie trudged groggily behind her muttering incoherent words.
Evelyn sighed as she watched her eldest daughter.
She turned to Mina and said.
" Don't ever be like your sister sweetie".
Mina nodded and continued eating her candy bar.
