With no place to go, and no hope of surviving, Ava's heart pierced through her as she wandered around. Her head felt heavy as she rolled her eyes around, obvious of the disgusting look that people threw at her. Apart from her hair looking so messy, her clothes were stained by her blood when she hit her head on the ground. Scanning the environment, her eyes rested on some fleet of cars, they were exotic cars and she knew that whoever owns them must be a rich dude. A golden statue was placed on one of the cars, mere looking at it, one could tell that it cost millions of dollars. She smiled as an idea popped up in her head. She ran her eyes across the ground and grabbed a brick stone. She aimed at the golden statue and hit it with the stone at a go, shattering the statue into bits. A smile of contentment crawled up her lips, she was very excellent in Javelin back in her childhood days, aiming at the golden statue was like stealing a candy from a baby. The guards were taken off guard as their mouths dropped in astonishment. They turned around and were shocked to see a weak, dirty lady smiling in front of them. “What did you just do? Do you know how expensive that statue is?” Avery's assistant screamed at her, his eyes bulging out of their sockets. Ava smirked, rested an arm on her belly while she played with her hair with the other hand. “And who is the owner of the statue? I would like to meet him.” She snapped, not even a hint of fear could be found in her voice. “Here I am. You want to see me?” A cold voice screeched through Ava's eyes. A tall muscular figure slowly appeared in front of her. His physique suddenly seemed to diminish the confidence in Ava, his voice sent a shockwave to her bones and she began to shrink under his gaze. “I…the statue…” Ava stuttered, her armpits became itchy and she darted her eyes around, not wanting to take a look at the domineering man in front of him. “Yes, the statue. I just won it from an auction in New York but you just destroyed it. I hope you do have a reason for that!” Avery's curious and discerning eyes rolled from her head to her toe. He stared at her for a while and smirked as he remembered something. Ava's courage from before had seemed to fully disappear, but upon remembering the revenge she needed, and that she was nearly cremated due to some people's infidelity, she mustered up some courage and stared at the man. Her thirst for revenge pushed her to do more. She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to talk; “And what do you want from me to compensate for the statue?” She asked calmly, staring straight into his eyes. Avery was a bit surprised by her sudden change in expression. He moved closer to her and smiled. “Of course pay for the statue you broke and the damages you caused.” He snapped at her, breathing onto her face. “I don't have any money on me. I just got divorced, lost my father, and my name was erased from the family's register...” She replied to him calmly, not wanting to show how intimidated she was by his towering figure. “...but I do have something, which is…me.” She continued, while Avery constricted his brows, wondering what the information was for. “I don't care if you were just divorced or chased away, just pay for the damn statue and the damages you caused. I don't have all the time to spend with you. You appeared in the male's restroom back in New York and now you broke my statue. What the hell is wrong with you?” Avery screamed at her. Ava raised her eyes sharply at Avery, and her heart skipped a beat. She was totally unaware that he was the man from the restroom. “I am sorry, but I can compensate you with something else. I mean…I can give you myself.” She muttered. Avery's assistant suddenly coughed as if he was choking on something. Avery's eyes constricted as he stared at the lady in front of him, she seemed so desperate to get to his side. “And what am I to do with a disheveled lady like you? What will I gain from making you my s*x mate?” “I will be yours, you will have all of me, while I just need to marry you and get back to all of them.” She explained, clenching her fists tightly. Avery again stared at her from head to toe and smiled inwardly. He could sense her desperation coursing through her veins and he was ready to take advantage of it. “Fine, I agree. Let's get married and we will be even.” He said after some seconds of silence. With her as his bride, he could retain his position as the heir to the family's company. A stream of joy flowed through Ava's marrow, she gazed into Avery's eyes and nodded her head. “I agree.” She said with determination, tightening her fist harder. There was a bureau nearby and they both headed there, signed the necessary documents and made their marriage official. Ava didn't even think twice as she penned down her signature. ‘for revenge, nothing else matters.’ she had said to herself as she signed the papers. She stared at the wedding certificate in her hand and smiled. Blinded by her thirst for revenge, she didn't know that her rash decision had thrown her into a different world, a world full of secrets and dangers, a world where each second was dreaded for the danger it held.
