Our Mate is Who?

Micah POV

Ugh. I genuinely hope that Alpha Maverick's daughter isn't our mate. How could we be paired with that monster's daughter? Even if she is a victim, as my brother claims, she will be broken and thoroughly used, or worse; she will be just like Alpha Maverick.

Ever since I can remember, I have known what our mate would be like. Our mate will be stunning and have a body to die for. She will be intelligent and have grace, class, and compassion. She is strong and confident. She will make us stronger as Alphas and make the pack stronger.

I don't believe the Moon Goddess would pair us with a mate that could be broken and thoroughly used. Or it could be just like her father, Alpha Maverick. Nope, it isn't possible and not going to happen. We are not that unfortunate to be saddled with a mate like that.

"Our mate was made for us by the moon goddess. You are not the one who gets to decide who are mate is or will be. You need to get over your childish ideals of who our mate should be," Zier, my wolf, scolds me.

"So, if Alpha Maverick's daughter is our mate, you would be okay with that?' I ask Zier

"Of course. The Moon Goddess made her for us," Zier says

"Your joking, right?" I ask Zier

"No. Our mate is perfect and made for us. It doesn't matter who her father is or if she is broken," Zier says

"I don't want a broken and used mate. I want a mate worthy of being our mate," I grumble to Zier.

"Stop being childish with your ideas of what our perfect mate should be like. We know nothing of our mate; for all we know, she could be like a phoenix and rise from the ashes and be stronger than us," Zier says.

"You don't believe that do you?" I ask Zier

"Yes, I do. I'm not the one upset and disappointed at our mate who we haven't even met yet," Zier scoffs

"What if she is like her father, a cruel, cold, calculating b***h that doesn't care about anyone or anything but herself?" I ask Zier

"You spend too much time thinking about the what-ifs. You really should focus on finding our mate and getting her the hell out of this place," Zier says

"I agree that no one should have to live like this if our mate is truly the victim. I have no problem getting her out of here; however, I don't want her for a mate," I grumble at Zier

"Stop being so childish and grow up. Not everything in this life will be how you wanted it or expect it to be like," Zier grumbles and retreats to the back of my mind.

No, Alpha Maverick's daughter is not our mate. Whoever she is, she isn't destined to be our mate. No, our mate isn't broken or like Alpha Maverick. However, I will not leave Remi here to suffer any more than she already has if she is truly a victim.

Nathan POV

When I smelled our mates' scents on Alpha Maverick, his son Derek and brother Trent, I was shocked and even more shocked when I realized that our mate's scent was similar to theirs, which could only mean one thing, their family. Werewolves have different scents; however, an underlying family scent identifies a werewolf's family. That's how I was able to tell our mate is rated to Alpha Maverick and his family.

Unfortunately, our mate's scent was heavily on all three men. I can't say for sure, but I have a terrible feeling that they are sexually abusing our mate, which doesn't sit well with me. I had to stop Zane from shifting and killing Alpha Maverick and his family. We need to find out what is going on in this pack and with our mate.

I'm unsure how I feel about the possibility of having Alpha Maverick's daughter as a mate. It will complicate matters and possibly lead to a senseless war, putting our pack in danger. I'm not sure our mate is worth putting our pack in danger.

Yes, we are the strongest pack in the world next to the King's pack. However, that doesn't mean we go looking for trouble or start wars. No, we focus on the safety of our pack to ensure they are safe to live their lives.

Unfortunately, our mate could jeopardize our pack's safety, and I'm not sure I'm willing to take that risk, even for our mate. We have waited so long for our mate. Why does this have to be so complicated? Why couldn't our mate be more normal?

"You worry too much," Zane says

"I can't help it. Our pack comes first. You know this," I tell Zane

"Yes, but so does our mate," Zane says

"I am wrong in thinking she will jeopardize our pack's safety?" I ask Zane

"No. However, there are many things in our pack that jeopardize our pack safety," Zane says

"Really? Like what?" I ask Zane

"The fact that we have a large community of white wolves. The fact that we have the largest and best pack lands next to the King's.

And let's not forget we have a powerful alliance with the King's pack. All of this puts our pack in danger simply because other packs want what we have, and some will stop at nothing to get it," Zane scolds

"I know. However, we must protect our mate and worry about her constantly. She will need so much attention that it could distract us from protecting the pack," I tell Zane.

"She was made for us by the Moon Goddess and given to us for a reason. She will complete us and make us stronger. Our mate is worth going to war over and for," Zane says as he retreats into my mind.

It's not like we have a choice in the matter; the mate pulling will pull us towards our mate. Plus, there is no way I will leave our mate here to suffer more at the hands of Alpha Maverick, and Goddess knows who else.

Wyatt POV

For the last 30 minutes, I have been sweeping the room for hidden cameras and mics. So far, I have found three hidden cameras that capture every room angle. I also managed to find two hidden microphones. Fortunately, it appears that the bathroom is the only place that doesn't have any cameras or microphones.

Sweeping my room for hidden cameras and microphones helps keep my mind off the fact that we found our mate, and she is possibly Alpha Maverick's daughter, Remi.

On the one hand, I'm ecstatic that we finally found our mate, but the reality of the situation comes crashing down. How could this be?

Our mate is supposed to make us stronger and lead by our side. How will a broken and used girl be strong enough to do that? I don't see it. She has suffered so much at the hands of her father and family, and I feel for Remi. No one should have to endure what she has gone through.

However, will we be stronger with Remi as our mate, or will she make us weaker? How will Remi lead with us when she has been taught to be submissive her whole life? I don't know what the Moon Goddess thought when she paired us with Remi?

"Stop being an i***t. Remi isn't going to make us weaker," Xerxes says

"Are you telling me that she isn't going to be broken? That she is going to be a strong Luna for our pack?" I ask Xerxes

"She will need time to heal; however, that doesn't mean she is weak. For all we know, what she has gone through has made her stronger," Xerxes tells me.

"We are about to take over the pack. I'm not sure we will have time to help her get through all of this," I tell Xerxes.

"We will make the time, plus there are three of us," Xerxes says as he tries to retreat.

"Ha. Micah doesn't want her because she doesn't live up to his expectations of who his mate is. Nathan is probably thinking that she is going to endanger us as well as the pack," I scoffed.

"Then you need to get your brothers in line. She is our mate, and we need to take care of her and help her heal," Xerxes firmly says.

"I don't think my brothers and I have the patience nor the time to do that," I grumbled to Xerxes.

"Then Remi deserves better mates than the three of you, jackass," Xerxes snaps and retreats.

Great, now we are unworthy of having Remi as our mate. There isn't much we can do about it at the moment. I need to focus on the task at hand. Whether Remi is our mate or not, we did come here to get her out. With some luck, we will be able to get the evidence we need to take down the Red Crimson Moon pack.

My brothers and I will need to wait until we get back to our pack to figure out what to do about our mate and to find out for sure that Remi is our mate.
