Chapter 3

2280 Words
As the night progressed, Lyron told me more about the purpose of his studies- human literature and an extra in his field of air controlling and how it connects to other powers. It is always believed that air is the most powerful of natural powers, after all, it gets its fuel from the endless skies.    Fire is always rumored to be the most reckless one, but whatever.    “What kind of reading were you doing in your classes? I am sure we must have some of them in our library.” I inquired, trying to keep him talking. “Well, I am sure you have the Shakespeare, I have borrowed it on few occasions. But others I don’t remember.” He said and looked to the back, where the ‘secret door’ leading to the library was.    “If I have not mistaken that door leads to the library.” I chuckled. “Good gods, your memory is good. I don’t even remember when I last saw you but you remember the secret door.” I joked. He laughed and shrugged his shoulders. “If you think this is good, wait till I start reciting poems without even looking.” He artistically moved his hands around and I smiled.    “So, you are an actor then?” I asked. “No, more of a play director. I am planning on bringing a new life to our theatre’s.” I nodded in agreement. “Please, do put on something exciting, I can’t take all the romantic plays anymore. They bore me.” I said and Lyron laughed.    “Seems like, your highness dislikes the feeling of love. How unfortunate.” I rolled my eyes at that remark.  We get it. You think you are smart.    “Romantic plays do seem to stretch out the romance and make the audience lose their interest. I promise to not do that, at least not on the first few shows.” Lyron winked in the end. His eyes were sweet kind of hazel.      After a while, the cake was brought, grandpa hated candles so none of those were around. But people cheered he felt happy and it went on. As some of the guests were leaving, Veirn walked towards me and offered to go out into the city. It had a peaceful aura at night.      “I don’t know, I am a bit tired but I can go out,” I said. Veirn looked at Lyron expecting an answer from him as well. “Yeah I am up for it, you could show me around the city as well.” Veirn agreed and we got up to leave.    This time, instead of running through the backdoor, we moved around the people. Lyron’s parents smiled and nodded at us as we passed them. Others simply nodded and made way for us to move. As we made our way to the door, I noticed Ezra standing next to it.    “Should we invite him to come? He looks so bored.” Veirn said, apparently, I wasn’t the only one who noticed Ezra. Lyron’s attention shifted to Ezra. Ezra was busy trying to see the place through his glass as he moved it closer and farther from his eye.    “He looks old. Who is he?” Lyron asked and looked at me. “His name is Lord Ezra Canmore. He is the Ambassador of Sorcerers.” I answered as we moved closer to the exit. “He is probably much older than us.” Veirn wandered aloud, abandoning the idea of inviting Ezra with us.    Only 3 years. I wouldn’t call that much older.   By now Ezra noticed us, he had a polite smile as he nodded first at Veirn and then to me.  Veirn smiled and nodded while I simply nodded and appeared uninterested.    The best part of having our affair in secret is me not having to show emotions every time I see him. I could just ignore him, never even say hello, when we pass each other. He does the same, we could act as if another one is not there even when we stand around the same table, or are part of the same group discussion.    We take the back door from the castle, exit to the newly cleaned backyard and from there Veirn gets to the garage where our cars are parked. I wasn’t the best driving option at night, so Veirn took the driver's seat. Lyron offered for me to take the front seat.    “I have a huge dress, I don’t think I physically can fit in there.” He chuckled and opened the door for me so I can get into the back in peace. “So, where do you want to see first?” Veirn asked as a good tour guide.     “I have been around the main areas, like the huge arena with all the people and statue place nearby. But I haven’t seen anything out of the main circle, you know?” Lyron explained himself while Veirn nodded with understanding.    “Well, then buckle up kids. Some unusual touristic destinations coming right up.” With that, he sped out of the garage and to the side road. Luckily for us, it was empty, or otherwise, we would have crashed into another car.   “Are you going where I think you are going?” I asked and Veirn smiled and winked at me. He was driving to The Bar. It is on the outskirts of the city because everyone always complained about its noise and drunk people.    It is a special bar owned by sorcerers, they can make all kinds of drinks and have everything you could wish for. Video games, movie rooms, karaoke stand, huge underground party room where music is so loud that your ears will start hurting as soon as you get there.    Everyone who’s under 35 and loves to live their life is there. Another wonderful part of it is the masquerade party they do once in 2 months. If I am not mistaken, one of those balls should be about to start.   “Hell, yeah baby, it is the masquerade day‼” Veirn slams the car’s door as he gets out. He gives a slight introduction to Lyron about this place while I try to make my gown look less fancy and more party.    The best part of masquerade day is I can put on a mask, a magical mask f=of course, that will hide my identity from anyone. You can’t just pull of someone’s mask or recognize their eyes or voice. Mask hides everything.   It is the beauty of anonymity that makes Veirn come here over and over again, sometimes I tag along, but mostly I am coming here and then after few drinks, Ezra comes and gets me for an even better way of spending the night.    We pick up the masks from the outside and make sure that we fixed them right before walking in. The sound of music gets me on the mood, and I move along to the beat as I approach the bar. I order 3 rounds of my usual drink and pass them on to Veirn and Lyron.    “When was the last time you have been to the party?” I yell to Lyron over the sound of music. He shrugs. “I don’t know, probably last month or something.” I chuckle and pat him on the back. “Well, have fun then, Mr. Play Director. Let loose.” I drown my drink in one go and move towards the heart of the dance floor.   I get around some other girls and we start dancing and spinning around, I order them round of drinks. They are way more drunk than I am so it is fun seeing them fall and laugh about it every few minutes.    After some time, I fall onto the couch close by and try to catch my breath. I was feeling fine but if I turned my head around too fast my vision got too blurry. I looked around for Veirn, but couldn’t see him, mostly because I forgot what his mask looked like.      Another person comes and sits next to me. He was out of breath and it took him a few minutes to get better. “You doing fine?” I asked without looking at him, from the corner of my eye I saw him looking at me. “I think so, boy, I shouldn’t drink that s**t again.” He said and chuckled, I only half-smiled.   After a few moments of silence, he moved closer and stood silent waiting for my reaction. “If you want to make out, please be a man and ask it,” I said and finally turned to look at him. His mask was blue and brown and he seemed younger than me.  “Sorry, you want to get somewhere more private, darling?” I chuckle and lean back on to the sofa. “I think you’ve got to earn it first, darling,” I say and look at him in the eyes. Thanks to the masks everyone’s eyes were black.    He had a small smirk as he leaned closer and captured my mouth in his. He shifted his body weight, making himself lean on one side and while the rest of him was hovering over me. We moved in sync, as his mouth traveled from my mouth towards my jaw, his hands were wrapping around my back as he was moving over me completely.    I felt his mouth on my neck as his kisses warmed my neck. “I put my hand on his chest. You are going too far now. If you give me a hickey or try to do anything more than kissing I am going to kick you in your boner, got it?” I said and moved to put a distance between us.    He stood there, glancing at me for a moment then smiled a devilish smile. “Funny hearing the same threat for the second time today.”    I looked at him puzzled while my clouded judgment was trying to put pieces together.  Same threat second time? Riiighhht. I said the same thing to Ezra earlier today.    “Wow didn’t know you actually knew how to enter this place,” I said and looked at him. This masks really are wonderful, I can’t understand how they could change Ezra so much.    “For your information, I am a regular here, I just come on less crowded nights.” He said and looked around the wave of people. “What brought you in tonight then?” I asked.    “Wait how did you even know it was me?” I asked suddenly remembering that I had a mask on my face too. Ezra chuckled and leaned closer to me. “Wow your majesty, you are so drunk. If you have forgotten, I am a sorcerer, I just searched for your energy.”  “Then acted like a drunk stranger who wanted to make out.” We had mere inches between us. “Clever of you, but I never took you for submissive kind. Are you getting weak, my lord?” I teased as I moved away from him.    His evil smile was back again. “Aw, darling, I was just playing with you.” He said and grabbed one side of my face and started to kiss me. This time it was rough and he took the lead as he moved me even closer to him. I was practically on his chest. His one hand moved to my hips and continued on moving down towards my inner tights. I couldn’t move my hands, they were pressed between me and him. I could only lean my head to whichever side he guided me to. His lips moved away from mine, allowing some oxygen to enter my body, I tried to catch my breath as he teased me with a soft brush of his lips on my neck. I arched my neck even further and leaned my head on his shoulder as I let out a small moan.    If you keep going we’re going to need a room.” I said while trying to keep my voice steady.  Ezra stopped and moved away. “Why a room? This is a mask party. I can do whatever I want right here.” I shook my head, “Oh no you wouldn’t. Veirn is here, he could easily recognize me. I don’t want to be known for f*****g in public.”   Ezra chuckled. “Relax, he and that new friend of yours are already passed out somewhere.” He looked around and then looked at me again. “Also, all the females have the same mask and extra ballroom dresses.”     I looked around and noticed that he was right. Due to low lighting, all of the dresses looked like they had the same outline. Details and differences were only visible under good lighting.  I turned towards Ezra. “Good then. But I am not moving out of my spot.” I said and leaned on the couch Ezra grabbed my leg and moved it under his as his other hand was in the back of my neck, moving me closer to his chest.
