Derrick's POV
Bang! Bang! Bang! The loud noise from the door woke me up; I jolted up from the couch, where I had slept when I came home last night; I guess I was more drunk than I thought. Well, it has been like that for a few days now.
Drinking seems to be the only thing that can remedy the pain in my heart. The pain was left by Chloe when she left me. When the judge said that she must come back home, I was sure that she would be here by now, I didn't think that she could break the law and disobey the judge.
It seems like I was wrong. I am beginning to believe that my mother was right about me. Maybe I don't know my wife like I think I do because the Chloe I met would have never broken the law. To be honest, I thought that she would be here by now.
