Damien's POV
The last week has been nothing short of hell. Nothing is going right for me. Still, I couldn't even give myself time to think about that, not when Chloe was still in the hospital unconscious. They had to put her in an induced comma to perform an operation.
She was supposed to come back after a few hours, then days went by, those days, they felt like months. Watching her lying there still was tearing me up inside. Even though it pained me to see her like that, I couldn't bring myself to leave her.
During the night, I would climb into her bed and sleep next to her. I just wanted to be close to her, I wanted her to know that I was there for her, never leaving her side. I am grateful for the help that the doctors gave me. They saved them both, and that is enough for me.
