" I should call Don and let him know that we touched down safely," Sergio said to me.
We were a few minutes away from the penthouse; he took a different route, one we'd never used before.
" I texted him," I said to him. It was a lie, I had to talk to him face to face, plus I didn't want Sergio to take the fall for this. I know Damien will blame him for not checking up with him before he took off in Haiti.
My mother was with me, and though I am still angry at her, I fear for her safety. Derrick has started with his nonsense again, and I fear that he might hurt my mother to get at me; right now, the safest place for her to be is with us.
