Meggy’s POV Aria’s grip tightened around my throat, stealing every ounce of breath from my lungs. Panic surged through my veins, my vision blurring, dark spots forming in my sight. I tried to fight—tried to claw at her hands, tried to breathe—but my body failed me. And just before I could tell if she had let go— Everything went black. Lila P O V The feeling of being trapped crept up on me like an old nightmare. I hated this feeling. I had spent years fighting it. And yet, sitting here, waiting for Aria, it came back like a shadow I couldn’t shake. Aria had been with me through everything. She had sat beside me during my recovery, never leaving my side, always listening. And she had been with me—holding me—on the day I lost my children. My heart clenched. I was alone again.
