I woke up feeling hollow.
The room was empty, and the bed was cold beside me. Nikolai was gone.
For a moment, I stayed there, staring at the ceiling, willing myself to get up. But the weight of yesterday still clung to me. My secret was out. The whispers, the stares, Aidan’s anger—it was too much.
I pushed myself up with a groan, running a hand through my messy hair. You can’t stay in bed all day.
With heavy steps, I dressed and left my dorm, heading for the training grounds.
