I didn’t leave my room for the rest of the night.
After escaping from Nikolai’s room, my heart was still racing, my skin tingling from where he had touched me. I needed time to breathe, to think, to calm down. So, I locked myself in my room and didn’t come out until the next morning.
And even then, I only opened my door because I was desperate for a bath.
I peeked out cautiously, glancing left and right to make sure the coast was clear. No sign of Nikolai. Good. I took a careful step forward, planning to sneak my way to the bathroom before anyone could see me.
Unfortunately, luck was not on my side.
