Chapter 59 Ella The principal stood on a makeshift stage near the bonfire. The flames crackled and danced, sending sparks flying into the night sky, illuminating the faces of the students gathered around. He looked out at all of us, his face hard in the firelight. "Despite what's happened today," he said, his voice loud over the crackling fire, "the mission is still on. We're going ahead as planned. So everyone be prepared for tomorrow" A low buzz of whispers went through the crowd. The bonfire popped and snapped, and someone nearby coughed.
