Ella's POV I turned around, and the sight before me nearly knocked the air out of my lungs. A man stood in the middle of the room, wearing nothing but underwear. His tall, muscular frame domiNueld the small space, and his dark brown hair, casually swept to one side, gave him a rugged charm. But it was his eyes that held me captive—gray-blue and piercing, like they could see right through me. My wolf spirit howled with joy, urging me to jump into his arms. “Mate.” The word echoed in my head, and my knees felt weak. His scent—fresh pine and rain—was intoxicating, clouding my senses. But his glare? It was fiery enough to burn through stone. “Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my room?” His deep voice growled, sending shivers down my spine. I opened my mouth to answer, but no words came out. My wolf was too busy swooning, and my brain had apparently checked out. His scowl deepened when I didn’t respond. Without another word, he grabbed my bags and hurled them out the door like they were trash. “Hey!” I finally found my voice. “What are you doing?” “You don’t belong here,” he snapped. “Excuse me?” I marched over to him, anger flaring in my chest. “The academy assigned me to this room. I have every right to be here!” His eyebrows shot up, like he couldn’t believe I dared to talk back. “This is my room. I don’t care what the academy told you. Get out.” “No!” I crossed my arms, standing my ground. “If you have a problem, take it up with the administration. But I’m not leaving.” For a moment, he just stared at me, his expression a mix of surprise and irritation. Then, he took a step toward me, closing the already small distance between us. I instinctively backed away, but he kept advancing, his tall frame towering over mine. My back hit something solid. I turned my head, only to find myself face-to-face with another shirtless man. This one was just as tall, with the same powerful build and piercing eyes. But where the first man’s gaze was fiery, this one’s was cold and calculating. “Aidan, who’s this?” the second man asked, his tone calm but sharp. “He thinks he can stay here,” Aidan growled, his eyes never leaving mine. I was trapped between the two of them, their bodies so close I could feel the heat radiating off their skin. My face burned, and my wolf spirit practically purred. “Stop gawking, Ella! You’re supposed to be Nuel!” I scolded myself internally, but it was impossible to think straight with these two alphas pinning me in place. “I told you,” I said, trying to sound firm despite my shaky voice. “This is my assigned room. I’m not leaving.” The second man smirked, his eyes scanning me like he was trying to figure me out. “Bold, aren’t you?” “He is stubborn,” Aidan muttered, still glaring. “And you’re rude!” I shot back, glaring right back at him. For a moment, no one said anything. The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. My wolf wasn’t helping, whispering things like “They’re both our Mates. Imagine the possibilities…” I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. But with two shirtless alphas practically pinning me against the wall, it was a losing battle. “The moment Aidan stepped back, I didn’t waste a second. Slipping sideways, I darted out from between them, my heart pounding in my chest. Their stunned expressions made my escape easier, and I didn’t stop until I reached the bathroom. I slammed the door shut and twisted the lock with trembling fingers. Leaning against the door, I let out a shaky breath, trying to calm my racing heart. What had just happened? My wolf was practically bouncing with excitement, but all I felt was panic. Aidan’s glare, the intensity of his presence, and that damn intoxicating scent—it was too much. A loud bang on the door made me jump. “Nuel!” Aidan’s deep voice boomed, shaking the doorframe. “Open this door right now!” “Leave me alone!” I shouted back, my voice trembling despite my best efforts to sound strong. Another loud thud followed, and I winced. How strong was this guy? He could probably rip the door off its hinges if he really wanted to. “Aidan, stop,” the second man’s calm voice cut through the chaos. “You’ll scare him off.” “What are you talking about, Nikolai?” Aidan snapped, but the pounding stopped. “You know exactly what I’m talking about,” Nikolai replied smoothly. “The academy’s already on edge. Multiple reports came in this morning about a female’s scent on campus. We can’t afford to draw attention.” There was a tense pause, and I pressed my ear to the door, desperate to hear more. Aidan’s growl rumbled low and dangerous. “If anyone dares break the rules…” “They’ll be dead before they can try,” Nikolai finished for him, his voice chillingly calm. A shiver ran down my spine. Why did Aidan sound like he was ready to tear someone apart? And that someone was me. “You know what this means, Aidan,” Nikolai continued. “If he is hiding something, we’ll find out soon enough. For now, back off. You’re not helping.” Aidan let out a frustrated snarl, and I imagined him pacing like a caged animal. After a long moment, I heard their footsteps retreat. Silence. I sank to the floor, my legs giving out beneath me. My heart was racing, and my mind was spinning with questions. They were both my mates. That much was clear from the way my wolf had reacted. But he also seemed to be the werewolf who hated females the most. The way he spoke about “breaking the rules” and his fury over the reports… It was terrifying. What if he found out I wasn’t really Nuel? What if he discovered that the scent everyone was noticing belonged to me? I pressed my hand to my chest, trying to steady my breathing. I couldn’t let this slip. Not here. Not now. But the fear lingered, gnawing at the edges of my resolve. What should I do?
