I stirred, my body heavy with exhaustion. A warmth surrounded me, their scents wrapping around me like a cocoon of safety. My mind was still foggy from the dream, my heart racing with the lingering words of the Moon Goddess. It is almost time.
A soft touch brushed my forehead, and I blinked my eyes open to find Aidan and Nikolai hovering over me, their faces tight with concern.
"You’re burning up," Aidan murmured, his hand pressing gently against my forehead.
"Do you feel sick?" Nikolai asked, his brows drawn together.
I swallowed, my throat dry. "I—"
Before I could answer, a sharp knock echoed through the room, making all three of us tense. Nikolai's head snapped toward the door, a growl already forming in his throat.
