BETRAYAL AND CONSEQUENCES

Arcturus vanished, leaving behind a cryptic message:

Suddenly Luca's expression turned grim.

"Ava, Drake... I have something to confess."

Ava's heart sank.

"What is it Luca," Ava asked.

Luca's voice cracked.

"I've been walking with Arcturus... to ensure the packs survival."

Ava felt betrayed.

"Luca, how could you? Ava asked.

Luca's eyes pleaded for understanding.

"I did it to protect our pack, Ava. But i realize now... i made a terrible mistake."

Ava's eyes boiled over.

Luca nodded, leading Ava and Drake to Arcturus hidden lair.

Arcturus awaited, his smile unwavering.

"Ah, Ava. Drake. I see Luca has confessed."

Arcturus shrugged.

Drake's eyes blazed.

"You'll never control us," Drake snarled.

Arcturus chuckled.

"Oh, but i already do. Luca's loyalty, the packs fear... all threads in my web."

Ava's determination hardened.

Drake nodded.

"The Witch Covenant might help. They've long opposed Arcturus power."

Luca spoke up.

"I know someone within the Covenant. She may listen."

Ava's gaze lock onto Luca's.

"Lyra, my sister. She is a high-ranking witch."

Axel's eyes widened.

"Luca you never mentioned--"

Luca's expression turned grim.

"I protected her, kept her separate from our pack struggles."

Drake stood.

"Let's go. Time to form an alliance."

At the Witch Covenant, Lyra greeted them with a mix of surprise and caution.

"Ava, Drake.... What brings you to our doorstep?" Lyra asked.

Ava explained Arcturus manipulation, Luca's betrayal.

Lyra's expression darkened.

"We'll listen. But proof of Arcturus treachery is required."

Lyra's eyes scanned the papers, her face set.

"We'll ally with you. Together we'll bring down Arcturus."

Ava chose stealth.

Lyra nodded.

"I know someone who can help. A witch with.... flexible loyalties."

Lyra introduced them to Kayla, mysterious witch with ties to Arcturus.

Kayla's eyes gleamed.

Drake's gaze narrowed.

"What do you want?" Drake asked.

"Protection. Arcturus suspects my loyalty wavers."

"Since we all have succeeded in defeating Arcturus, I'm ready to receive whatever punishment is melted on me now, because if i hadn't colluded with Arcturus in the first place, non of this would have happened."

Silence fell all over the place has Luca completed his statement.

Tears threatened to fall from Lyra's eyes as she spoke.

"Brother, i will not blame you or neither will i ever accuse you of whatever wrong you do," She said. "This is so because you are the main reason i'm given a second life to live, and because of that, you will forever be my brother."

As soon as she finished saying this words, Luca rushed and enveloped her in her hug.

"I'm sorry, i let you down."

Drake looked at Ava, with pleading eyes.

"Ava, i think you should go lenient on him," he said.

"I know, that's why as his punishment he would be asked to kill himself right here, right now," Ava said.

Gasp echoed across the room, towards Ava's punishment.

"I'll gladly do so." Luca said.

"Just joking."

Saying that, Ava kneeled down to Luca.

"Thank you so much all of you."

As the dust settled, Ava realised her journey had just began.
