In Love With the Devil — Part 3 The earth beneath Shanghai trembled. Buildings shook violently as car alarms screamed across the streets below. Dark cracks spread across the rooftop beneath Lin Yue’s feet, glowing with ancient crimson light. The hunters panicked immediately. “What is happening?!” Shen Wuyin’s calm expression disappeared for the first time. “No…” he whispered. “The seal cannot break.” But it already had. Far below the city, something massive moved beneath the ground. Han Lucifer stared at Lin Yue in disbelief. The golden flames in her eyes reflected memories that should have remained buried forever. “Yue’er…” he said softly. Lin Yue looked at him, confused and frightened. Voices echoed inside her head. Ancient voices. A woman crying. A demon roaring. A promise made beneath falling fire. Suddenly, pain exploded through her chest. She collapsed to her knees. Han instantly caught her before she hit the ground. “Lin Yue!” The moment he touched her, another vision appeared between them. Three hundred years ago. The burning imperial palace. Han — still human then — held Li Xuan tightly as soldiers surrounded them. Blood stained her white robes. “Don’t make the deal,” Li Xuan begged weakly. “Please…” But Han’s face was filled with desperation. “If I do nothing, you’ll die!” Tears rolled down her face. “And if you become a demon… you’ll suffer forever.” The vision shattered violently. Lin Yue gasped awake in Han’s arms. “You loved me that much…” she whispered. Han closed his eyes painfully. “I destroyed the world for you.” Before she could answer, the sky suddenly split open. A massive black gate appeared above the city. The hunters froze in terror. Even Shen Wuyin stepped backward. “That’s impossible,” one hunter whispered. “The Gates of Hell were sealed centuries ago…” Dark creatures slowly emerged from the shadows inside the gate. Tall figures with hollow eyes and burning mouths. Demons. Thousands of them. The streets below erupted into chaos. People screamed and ran as darkness spread across Shanghai like a living storm. Shen Wuyin gripped his glowing sword tightly. “This is why heaven wanted him dead,” he said coldly. Han ignored him completely. His attention remained on Lin Yue. “The seal broke because your memories returned,” he explained quietly. “Your soul was part of the ancient barrier.” Lin Yue stared upward at the opening gate. “So this is my fault?” “No.” Han gently touched her face. “It was mine from the beginning.” Another deafening roar shook the sky. Then— A giant hand emerged from the gate. Massive. Covered in black flames. The demons immediately bowed their heads. Something far worse was coming. Shen Wuyin’s expression darkened. “He has awakened…” Lin Yue looked toward him. “Who?” But Han answered first. “The King of the Underworld.” Silence fell. Even the storm seemed to stop breathing. Then a deep voice echoed across the heavens. “Han Lucifer.” The voice alone shattered nearby windows. The giant hand gripped the edge of the gate as a monstrous figure slowly stepped halfway into the mortal world. Red eyes burned like suns in the darkness. Ancient chains wrapped around his body. And behind him stretched endless black wings larger than skyscrapers. Lin Yue felt fear unlike anything she had ever known. The creature smiled. “So after all these centuries…” the King said slowly, “you finally found her again.” Han’s wings unfolded protectively around Lin Yue. “You will not touch her.” The King laughed softly. “You still believe you can protect her?” His gaze shifted toward Lin Yue. “She was never meant to belong to heaven or earth.” Shen Wuyin stepped forward immediately. “Return to the underworld,” he ordered. “The gates will be sealed again tonight.” The King’s smile vanished instantly. Golden light exploded from Shen Wuyin’s sword as heavenly symbols filled the sky. The hunters joined him, creating a massive barrier around the city. But the King simply raised one clawed hand. And crushed the barrier with a single movement. Blood spilled from the hunters’ mouths as they collapsed. Shen Wuyin himself was thrown across the rooftop. Lin Yue stared in horror. Heaven’s Executioner had just been defeated effortlessly. The King’s attention returned to Han. “Kneel,” he commanded. Dark power surged through the air. Every demon below immediately obeyed. But Han remained standing. The King’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “You would defy your creator?” Lin Yue froze. Creator? Han’s expression turned cold. “I am not your servant anymore.” The King laughed again. “You were born from my power, child.” Suddenly, black flames erupted across Han’s body. He dropped to one knee in pain. “Han!” Lin Yue rushed toward him, but he stopped her. “Don’t come closer!” The darkness around him became unstable. Violent. Out of control. The King watched calmly. “You gave up your humanity centuries ago,” he said. “But your greatest weakness remained love.” His burning gaze locked onto Lin Yue. “So I will remove it.” Instantly, the King stretched out one hand toward her. A terrifying force dragged Lin Yue across the rooftop. Han’s eyes widened. “NO!” His scream shook the sky. For the first time in centuries, true terror appeared on the Devil’s face. And deep inside Lin Yue’s awakened memories, one final truth began to surface— A secret powerful enough to destroy both heaven and hell.
