A Little Present
Lucian made the mistake of relaxing after Laura told him about her trip. He simply assumed that just because she was going out of the country, Artemis wouldn't find a way to reach her.
A big mistake on his part.
The second mistake was that he didn't bother to call her. He was simply relieved that she was safe and not clinging to his skin like a leech.
He could finally breathe, even if it was for a couple of days.
He was packing up for the day when a call came onto his phone. He scoffed at the caller ID.
“So you finally decided to call me.”
