Lucian's grip tightened on the phone.
“Is something wrong?” Laura asked cluelessly.
“Oh nothing of concern,” he lied through his teeth. “Can you give me a minute?”
“Why? I was hoping to say hello to her. It'll be rude not to officially introduce us, you know,” Artemis drawled and Lucian resisted the urge to snap at him.
This boy was definitely going to be the death of him.
“Alright. I'll talk to you later,” Laura said simply and walked out. Lucian let out a breath.
“I'm not going to ask how you knew I called her multiple times, but I am going to ask you politely, like a responsible adult, to keep your beef between us and leave that innocent woman out of it,” Lucian said as calmly as he could manage.
