CHAPTER 36. Pillowtalk

Massimo is been gone for hours and it is already midnight, but Dahlia kept on rolling on the bed as she can’t bring herself to sleep, bothered about the vampires attitude. 

‘Is he really planning to just leave me alone here? Is he not coming back?’ Dahlia worriedly thought.

“Stubborn, what’s wrong of telling the truth that’s on my mind?” she muttered unbelievably and sighed. 

“Besides, I believe that falling in love takes time. Why would someone suddenly just feel it by smelling someone’s blood? Impossible!” She dramatically added.

“Haven’t heard of ‘love at first sight’?” Suddenly Massimo’s voice appeared in the room.

Dahlia was startled and immediately cover herself with the thick duvet as she only on her undergarment.

“Ho-how did you get in here!?” the Princess unbelievably inquired with scowling face.

“First of all, I am the most powerful vampire and I do incredible things which other can’t.” Massimo said as he start walking closer to the bed where Dahlia is.

“Second, I am not the one who’s stubborn, it is you.” He continue and with his quick movements, he abruptly pinned the lady on bed, holding both of her wrist.

“Lastly, why are so insensitive?”

“No, I’m not!” Dahlia countered.

“And can you please get off from me? You’re crashing me, Moss.” She added trying hard to free herself but the vampire refused to as he laid his body flat on top of her while he nuzzle his face on her neck.

“Sleep now, sweetblood” He only whisper and slowly rolled on the side, scooping Dahlia’s body with his arm and caged her.

“Mo-Moss, you should not be sleeping with me in the same room.” 

“Quiet, you’re not in your kingdom. You can’t tell me what to do or not to do.” Massimo countered with closed eyes.

“By the way, I’m sorry about this earlier, I shouldn’t have said that.” Suddenly Dahlia apologized, as she smelled the musky scent on his chest.

“It’s alright. In time, you will eventually understand me.”

"How are you feeling by the way? Is your body all fine now?" 

"I think so." Massimo answered.

"You think so? What do you mean?"

"The bruises on my stomach are still visible. But don't worry, I am feeling much better now." 

"May I see?" The princess suddenly sit up as she got curious.

But Massimo chuckle teasingly.

"Remember, we're on bed and you're only wearing just that," looking down to her body where her curves are almost visible.

"And you want me to get naked?" With soft chuckles and sighed.

Dahlia hurriedly pulls the blanket again and covers up her body. While Massimo hold the hem of his top and pull it up to show his damage skin with a mark of stab on the left. Dahlia gasped with the sight.

"My goodness, Moss. What did they do to you?" 

"One of the men got me with a silver sword, but don't worry. As I told you earlier, I'm feeling better now after I have your blood." He explained, covering his skin again.

"But it wasn't completely healed yet."

"I know, but it will later. Don't worry, I'm still a useful vampire. I can still protect you against hundreds of troops." The vampire keeps on bragging.

"But we might can't defeat the king if you are injured." 

Massimo sighed again.

"Dahlia, can you please stop talking about your plan of slaying the King of Gorgax? W mihy not try to divert your mind to something else?" 

"But like what? You clearly know that the goal of this trip is to give justice to my people, right?"

"Of course I know that. To find the real suspect," Massimo added while reaching for the lady's hand and slowly pulled her closer to him.

"But can we not think about it for now? Let just feel the night and maybe tomorrow, you will wake being in love with me." Massimo said in an almost whispering voice and give the lady a long kiss on the forehead, followed by a light peck on each cheek.

"Goodnight." He whispered staring down at the lady's lips as they both heave soft breaths.

Massimo resist the rising urge inside him and just slowly laid the lady's body down on bed beside him.

"Sleep now, my lovely mortal." Massimo whispered.

Dahlia nodded and finally closed her eyes as drowsiness pulled her to a peaceful slumber beside the vampire. Though Massimo supposed to be awake at night, but his nerves calmed down with the lady in his arms and dream with her.
